A Call to Action for Street Medics, Clinicians, and Herbalists
daisyPB.pngA newly formed faction of the Seeds of Peace Collective, named Eastern Seeds of Peace, is committed to organizing medical infrastructure in support of the expected large-scale actions against the International Pittsburgh Coal Conference and G20 Summit in Pittsburgh in late September. This is a call to action for street medics, clinicians, herbalists, and all those interested in contributing to the medical support that is crucial to the success of the planned marches and demonstrations.

In late May, it was announced that both the G20 Summit and the International Pittsburgh Coal Conference will be hosted by the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the same week (9/20-9/25) in late September. Two groups of activists, the G20 Resistance Project and the Pittsburgh Organizing Group, have taken responsibility for organizing a response to these gala events and they have been hard at work for the past two months building the general infrastructure to support an activist response to these events.

Justice for Jason: Raise your voice against racism in our state!
JasonVassellPhoto.jpgOn February 3, 2008 Jason Vassell, an African-American student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, was the victim of a racist hate crime. He has been further victimized by a racist prosecution. We, a coalition of community organizations, students and faculty, seek solidarity in challenging this racist prosecution.

Give Your Children the Gift of Truth this Christmas
Between the middle 1800s and the early 1900s, the desire to sell magazines merged with two historical tales, one from the pagan Germanic past and the other from Christan lore, to form the Santa Claus memeplex. The memeplex quickly morphed into a capitalist dream that, once saddled upon the working class, turned a nation into insatiable consumers and gave reason to the production of frivolous goods. A new religion was born and children everywhere began to pray to Santa - a super-hero-like being, an über-elf, the Führer of naughty and nice.

Queer Liberation and Anarchist Communism
DSC00140.JPGAs anarchist communists, it is only logical and consistent with our principles in the struggle for a free humanity that we support the personal, cultural, and institutional fight against patriarchy, hetero-sexism, the gender bi-nary system and all other struggles for queer liberation both in themselves and in their intersectionalities with capitalism, the state, white supremacy, and all other forms of human oppression.

The Mortgage Crisis in the USA
drooker4.gifCommentators complain of "partisanship" in Washington. Society's problems are said to result from infighting between parties. We should celebrate, then, because Democrats and Republicans have agreed on a plan to end the mortgage crisis. What solution do they offer? Handouts to Big Business, and "fiscal discipline" for the rest.

The Degeneration of the Russian Revolution
3andywarholredlenin.jpgThe Russian revolution go from an extreme popular democracy to the horrors of Stalin’s totalitarian state capitalism. How did this happen and when did this happen? What does this tell us about the nature of socialism?

How did the Russian revolution go from an extreme popular democracy to the horrors of Stalin’s totalitarian state capitalism? The Russian revolution of 1917 involved vast numbers of people. It included almost all the working class of the cities, most of the peasants, and the mostly-peasant ranks of the military (swollen by the needs of World War I). The working people created delegated representational councils (soviets), along with factory committees, unions, regimental councils, peasant village councils, and cooperatives.
