Protesters Voice Concern for Indigenous Massacre in Peru
peru.pngA coalition of 13 grassroots organizations in Boston delivered a letter today to the Peruvian Consulate to raise concerns over the military and police aggression against a peaceful protest of indigenous people in Bagua, Peru. Who's the Dummy Now? Police Overreact, Deactive Mannequin
dummy.pngOn March 31st, a brand new organization called Mannequins for Climate Justice chained a dummy to the door of a Kenmore Square Bank of America (BOA) with a bike lock, setting in motion a bizarre chain of events.

Police rushed to the scene and shut down all of Kenmore Square—taping off the area and blocking traffic—followed closely by ambulances, swarms of reporters and even news helicopters. Next, according to the Boston Phoenix, “bomb squad guys—one in a full space suit, plus their bomb-killing robot—were called in,” adding to the absurd spectacle.

NorthEast Anarchist Network: "Direct Action = Solidarity. Confront the Bankers in April!"
The NorthEast Anarchist Network is endorsing the "Self Described Anarchist Collective" and Global Justice Action calls for a diversity of tactics, including direct action, to disrupt the Spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington, DC. Even in this era of uncontrolled economic retraction and collapse, the IMF and World Bank continue to reach for their misleading, self-proclaimed objective of "eradicating poverty", while paradoxically ignoring the needs of poor and indigenous communities.

Rising Tide Boston Crashes Talk by Arch Coal CEO
coal-bubble.PNGBoston, MA - Seven activists from Rising Tide Boston disrupted a lecture at Harvard University being delivered by Arch Coal CEO Steve Leer, who was speaking on the future of “clean coal” technology. The activists attempted to enlighten the coal baron and the lecture attendees on the true cost of coal extraction. "Arch coal is participating in the destructive practice of mountaintop removal," says Tyler Kinser, a member of Rising Tide Boston. "How can coal ever be clean when entire communities are being poisoned and displaced by coal extraction?"
