In recent years Boston's Gay Pride March has become contaminated by boring uniformity.. Corporate sponsors and Democratic political campaigns have sucked much of the life from what was once a vibrant celebration of queer culture. Nonetheless, pockets of fabulousness remain, and our intrepid photographer was on hand to record them before they disappear forever. |

Yesterday's Boston Gay Pride parade featured a small but vocal anarchist bloc, a refreshing contrast to the political campaigns and commercial sponsors that have come to dominate the event. |

Rage Against Fascism |

In commemoration of an antifascist Sharp (skinhead Against Racial Prejudice), Jan Kucera, who was stabbed to death by Nazis in CZ on January 18, 2008, Boston Antifa will be hosting a show and fundraiser benefit for Anti-Nazi activists facing charges from the National Socialist Movement conference and march in Trenton, NJ during the weekend of April 16, 2011.
The show will take place February 4th at 8:00 PM at Encuentro 5, 33 Harrison Ave in Chinatown. |

PRISON ART EXHIBIT OPENS IN SOMERVILLE |

An exhibit featuring works by incarcerated artists opens this weekend and
runs through September. The show, put together by local anti-prison groups
Black and Pink and Boston Anarchist Black Cross, will be on display at
Somerville's Papercut Zine Library, located at 226 Pearl St. The space is
open Saturdays and Sundays 2-7PM and by appointment. There will be a
closing party Thursday September 15th at 7PM. |

Smash it Dead Fest This Weekend - A Benefit for BARCC |

This weekend Mass Art, along with two show houses, will host Smash it Dead Fest, a three-day hardcore show to benefit the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (http://www.barcc.org/). The festival kicks off Friday night at 7PM at Problem House and House of a Thousand Smiles, and moves to Mass Art on Saturday and Sunday from 2PM to midnight. |
