3/17 Pentagon protest-photos
18 Mar 2007
About 50,000 protesters braved the cold yesterday 3/17/07 in Washington DC to protest at the Pentagon. 3 buses from Boston came to DC.Here are some photos.
50,000 anti-war protesters marched from the Lincoln Memorial to the Pentagon to protest the war in Iraq on sat. March 17, 2007, yesterday. The numbers were kept smaller than would be due to the snowstorm in the North East which kept a lot of people from driving.Despite the cold temperatures in DC, the crowd was energized and powerful in its anti-war stance. The march was led by the Iraq Veterans Against the War and a lot of media from around the world were there to report on the march, as well as being on C-Span.
Marchers included veterans, Code Pink, young black-clad anarchists, and every other imaginable demographic.
Speakers at the Pentagon, where a stage was set up, included Cindy Sheehan and a long list of other eloquent anti-war voices.
There was a small counter-protest across the street from the march strart, made up of about 200 mostly Vietnam veterans dressed as bikers and carrying the usual pro-war signs and flags--the mainstream media, as usual, played up the small number of counter-protesters, who were dwarfed in numbers by the tens of thousands of anti-war people.
The march was organized by a coalition of anti-war groups led by ANSWER.3 buses from Boston came down to DC.

Great Demo !!

But let's not pump up the numbers. It was a great turn out, but it was more like 20,000, not 50. The weather may have had something to with it. Some of my friends couldn't make it because of the snow. Hopefully this weekend will be successful.

didn't I read on this site that there were 50,000,000 people there because ANSWER said so?
