Nationally renowned anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan spoke at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA on June 29, 2009. Veterans for Peace musicians Pat Scanlon and friends opened the event, singing some spirited peace songs.

After the death of her son, Casey, Cindy Sheehan heard then President George W. Bush tell the nation that those killed in Iraq died for a “noble cause.” Cindy had a simple and direct question for George W. Bush: “What noble cause did my son die for?” She took her question to President Bush while he was vacationing in Crawford, Texas and soon became known throughout the world for her courage and direct action.
Cindy was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 and has received many peace awards from all over the world. She has published three books: Not One More Mother’s Child; Dear President Bush; and Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism. Cindy recently published an internet booklet titled: Myth America: 10 Greatest Myths of the Robber Class and the Case for Revolution. She is currently on tour with this book to spark the dialogue and activism we need to separate ourselves from the oppressive Robber Class.
