Boston-Nov. 11, 2009:
Veterans For Peace were forced again this year to march well behind Boston's official Veterans Day Parade.
About 100 anti-war protesters led by the Boston Smedley Butler Brigade of Veterans For Peace marched at the end of the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Boston. The American Legion, Vets Parade organizer, does not like the Vets For Peace anti-war message. Several cops on motorcycles kept the Vets For Peace contingent well behind the official parade.
The Vets For Peace, despite it all, received many cheers from onlookers, possibly more than the pro-war parade received.
Also marching with Vets For Peace were Military Families Speak Out, Code Pink, and the Raging Grannies.
