Every Good Friday, the Quakers hold a silent vigil for world peace on Boston Common. |

Boston, Mass.-April 22, 2011:
For the 50th year on Good Friday(it's never a good day when a person is executed), Boston Quakers held a silent peace vigil on Boston Common, from 11am-2pm. Vigilers held signs calling for an end to war, and anti-war leaflets were passed out to passersby who were curious about the vigil. The vigil was for all faiths, but especially recalling how Jesus was a man of peace executed by the Roman state.Today we see that not much has changed-the Middle East is now occupied by the US empire and its military has killed and even tortured countless innocent people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and now Libya. What would the God of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity think of this violence?
