9/16/2011-Boston rally to stop the planned Sept. 21 execution of Troy Davis, an innocent man on Georgia death row. |
|
Boston, Mass.-Sept. 16, 2011:
As many of you are aware of, Troy Davis is an innocent man on the Georgia death row, scheduled to be executed in a few days Sept. 21. 7 of the 9 original witneses have recanted their testimony against Troy; in addition, another man has confessed to the murder. Millions internationally have signed petitions calling for Troy's freedom. Amnesty International as well as many other human rights organizations have taken up Troy's defense.
This past friday, over 300 protests calling for a stop to the execution took place around the world--there was a local Boston rally, too, at Park St. T station, sponsored by the IAC.
I took some photos and video at the Boston protest--
