Report From Last Night's Ferguson Solidarity March
26 Nov 2014
Gratitude and power for all the actions last night in solidarity with the community of Ferguson, with Michael Brown's family and all those who face the violence of systemic racism, police brutality and the killing of black and brown people.

A few moments of light... At yesterday evening's demonstration in Boston, Sub/Urban Justice youth leaders and community shut down the streets, witnessed at the South Bay detention center, shared our voices in struggle and tried to figure out what hope looks like in these days of despair.
For more of what last night looked like, check out Sub/Urban Justice youth leader Fatuma speaking truth in the Boston Globe: "There are a lot of things messed up with the system," said Fatuma Mohamed, 19, a student from South Boston High School. She said she went to the march and rally "to stand in solidarity with the people of Ferguson."

As we turn towards a time that for many is about thanksgiving and gratitude, here at Boston Mobilization we're grateful for so much!

Generous volunteers and college and graduate interns who have done everything this fall from designing brochures to running mock college interviews, from writing blog posts to supplementing our snack supply!

The wisdom of Sub/Urban Justice alumni, partner organizations and all those working for justice in the Boston area and beyond. We've done a lot of learning together this fall and are looking forward to so much more!

The support we receive from you and all those who offer resources to make this work stronger. Next week, we invite you to celebrate the Tuesday after Black Friday (alternately known as National Buy Nothing Day) with #GivingTuesday, an opportunity to give back to an organization that matters to you. Join us by making a donation to Boston Mobilization.
