Environmental activists from Resist the Pipeline blocked construction for about five hours by climbing into the trench where the pipeline is being built and refusing to move until they were arrested. All arrestees have been released and are scheduled for arraignment today and Friday.
Spectra is attempting to run the pipeline, which would carry highly flammable natural gas, through a residential neighborhood historically populated by people of color. The action was part of Resist the Pipeline's Escalation Summer.
