An Anarchist Take on the Trump Campaign
As of this writing, there is no obvious path to the White House for Donald Trump. As Harry Enten recently pointed out, Trump's strong unfavorability rating (not his unfavorability rating, his strong unfavorability rating) stands at 53%, a full 16 points ahead of Hillary Clinton's heroic-in-its-own-right 37%. While some combination of electoral fraud and liberal third party candidate could conceivably send Trump to the Oval Office, if the election were to be held today he would lose. Trump has proven to the world that with enough hard work and dedication there is such a thing as bad publicity. What a lot of people don't seem to realize though, is that the election isn't the whole fight, it's only the first round.

Albert Woodfox Released After Over 43 Years in Solitary
Albert-Woodfox_3334659b.jpgTake a deep breath everyone,

Just moments ago, Albert Woodfox, the last remaining member of the Angola 3 still behind bars, was released from prison 43 years and 10 months after he was first put in a 6x9 foot solitary cell for a crime he did not commit. After decades of costly litigation, Louisiana State officials have at last acted in the interest of justice and reached an agreement that brings a long overdue end to this nightmare. Albert has maintained his innocence at every step, and today, on his 69th birthday, he will finally begin a new phase of his life as a free man.

Somerville 18 Need Support
somerville18.jpgOn January 15, 2015, the #Somerville18, a group of Pan-Asians, Latinos, and white people, some of whom identify as queer or transgender, stood in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement by temporarily blocking the I-93 highway in Massachusetts. The demonstration called for the end to racial profiling, incarceration, murders, and other forms of police violence against Black people in the United States and beyond.

New petition for Albert Woodfox launched today by Amnesty International; Please sign!
2014.jpgUrging people to sign the new petition launched today, Jasmine Heiss of Amnesty International USA declares: "Allowing Albert his freedom is the only just and humane action the state can take after decades of holding him in cruel and inhuman conditions. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal must ensure that the state stops standing in the way of Albert's freedom. Tell the Governor: Stop wasting valuable taxpayer resources. Help ensure Albert's release without further delay. It is imperative that justice delayed does not become justice denied. Albert has endured the unthinkable. It is unconscionable to hold him for a single day longer."

Activists Shut Down Interstate Highway 93 North and South During Morning Rush Hour Traffic into Boston
B7ZV0HHCEAErRK2.png:large.pngSomerville/Milton/Boston -- Activists have shut down Interstate 93 Southbound and Northbound during morning rush hour commute into Boston to “disrupt business as usual” and protest police and state violence against Black people.

Two different groups of activists linked their bodies together across the highway in coordinated actions north and south of Boston. This action was in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. This diverse non-Black group of Pan-Asians, Latinos, and white people, some of whom are queer and transgender, took this action to confront white complacency in the systemic oppression of Black people in Boston.

350 Jews March from Coolidge Corner to Protest Racist Police Violence on First Night of Chanukah
tesssheflan.jpgBrookline, MA — Last night, over 350 Boston-area Jews gathered to observe the first night of Chanukah in Coolidge Corner by protesting racist police violence. They lit menorahs as a symbolic dedication to the fight to end systemic police violence and racial profiling, and to remember the lives of black people across the country who have been killed by police. Traffic was stopped in Coolidge corner for 30 minutes as hundreds of protesters gathered on the sidewalks and in the streets for public prayer and song, led by Jews of color, followed by a youth speak-out held on the steps of Kehillath Israel. They also fundraised for Black Lives Matter Boston.

Report From Last Night's Ferguson Solidarity March
Gratitude and power for all the actions last night in solidarity with the community
of Ferguson, with Michael Brown's family and all those who face the violence of
systemic racism, police brutality and the killing of black and brown people.

A few moments of light... At yesterday evening's demonstration in Boston, Sub/Urban
Justice youth leaders and community shut down the streets, witnessed at the South
Bay detention center, shared our voices in struggle and tried to figure out what
hope looks like in these days of despair.
