Skewed & Screwed exists to support the GLBT/Queer community, but it's an inclusive space for everyone.
January's show is music-centric, but we strive for variety. We’ve featured comedy, spoken word, burlesque, live music, magic and more.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Transgender Emergency Fund. |

Bob Whitaker's Book "Anatomy of an Epidemic" Criticizes Psychiatric Pharmaceutical Claims
A major annual conference funded by the US government since 1985 advertises itself as "organized by and for mental health consumers and survivors." The goal of this popular "Alternatives Conference" is to support empowerment, self-determination and choice by mental health clients.
But MindFreedom International News discovered that after Alternatives 2010 organizers confirmed their choice of keynote speaker as journalist Robert B. Whitaker, author of a new book with a scathing critique of psychiatric pharmaceutical claims, upper-level federal officials objected. |

Eviction Blockade Alert - Postponed For Now |

The eviction blockade at 18 King Street has been called off for tomorrow. The Humes family has petitioned for a stay and they will be in court tomorrow morning for a hearing. Please keep your guard up and prepare for a blockade as soon as Wednesday morning!!!! We will send out an email tomorrow afternoon, updating the status of a potential blockade.
The central demand of our movement for 3 years has been STOP POST-FORECLOSURE, NO-FAULT EVICTIONS BY THE BANKS. That's what Ursula Humes is fighting for on Tuesday morning. She is taking a stand on principle. Wells Fargo is evicting her no -fault. With our support, she will fight any no fault eviction by the bank. |

Community Groups Mix Art and Protest in Four Corners Block Rebellion |

City Life/Vida Urbana and Greater Four Corners Action Coalition are planning a unique protest this weekend that will kick-off what they calling a block rebellion in Dorchester’s Four Corners neighborhood. According to the groups, the neighborhood was chosen because it has a high number of housing units under foreclosure and many tenants and home owners face eviction in the near future. |
