Allen-Bell confronts the history and legacy of slavery head-on, asserting: "When it comes to African Americans, we have been incarcerated from the time we arrived in this country. Plantations were prisons. The change from incarceration on a plantation, to incarceration in custodial institutions, to incarceration where there are no physical limitations, but where one exists in a state of civic and political oppression, in my view, is nothing more than semantics. Mass incarceration started when slavery started."

BOSTON - The 1,200 registered nurses at Tufts Medical Center, who are represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association, are prepared to return to caring for their patients at 7 a.m. Thursday, July 13 following the conclusion of their one-day strike for safe patient care, fair retirement benefits and market competitive wages.

Boston Tuft's Nurses On Strike for Higher Pay and Better Patient Care

The Massachusetts Nurses Association has announced a strike after negotiations with Tufts Medical Center fell apart. The nurses felt betrayed as they walked off the job in hopes of securing better pay and more staff.

Some nurses felt like the hospital’s administration forced them to this point. The negotiations between the hospital administration and the MNA ultimately failed.

The LGBTQ Movement is an Intersectional Fail - by Andy Thayer
In recent years “intersectionality” has been the biggest buzz word in progressive circles, liberally sprinkled in activist conferences and social media. Yet few movements have been as long on intersectional talk, and little on action, as the LGBTQ movement.

Few events point up this fail more clearly than the impending release from prison this Wednesday of Transgender heroine Chelsea Manning. She is by far the single most important, impactful anti-war activist and whistle-blower that the LGBTQ movement has ever produced.

The Antifa demonstrators were assembled at a monument on a hill, the highest point in Boston Common. Leftist were on the monument hill waving red flags and black flags and carrying signs. The hill faced the bandstand were the Alt Right was rallying. The crowd was about 200 people with maybe 40 Black Block activists out front halfway down the hill. The police had a line of about ten cops on the walkway at the bottom of the hill. The police faced the Antifa crowd.
