Israeli Navy Attacks Gaza Aid Flotilla, at Least 14 Dead |

Early Monday morning, the Israeli navy attacked a flotilla of six ships in international waters attempting to bring food and medicine to the besieged residents of the Gaza Strip. The attack was carried out with tear gas and live ammunition, and Israeli commandos boarded the flotilla and took control of the ships. Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the Israeli trade minister, told an Israeli television station that 14 to 16 people had been killed in the attack. Dozens more were injured. |

On the weekend of April 23 - 25, the Anticapitalathon Games were held Washington, DC to protest the International Monetary Fund/World Bank spring meetings. The "Games" were organized by the Self Described Anarchist Collective (http://selfdescribed.org), a regional anti-authoritarian group. While this year's protest was smaller than in years past, tremendous energy and enthusiasm was demonstrated by all who took part. |
