Occupy Boston kicked off their occupation of Boston's financial district in fine style yesterday evening, with hundreds converging on Dewey Square to protest the continued domination of their lives by a small unaccountable handful of bankers and plutocrats.
On Thursday evening Occupy Boston held its last general assembly before Friday's occupation of Dewey Square. Conducted indoors at Encuentro Cinco in Chinatown, the meeting was mostly devoted to finalizing logistics details.
Inspired by the recent Occupy Wall Street protests (http://occupywallst.org), local organizers are planning a similar demonstration in Boston. Last night about 300 people gathered on Boston Common for a general assembly to discuss occupying a location in Boston to protest the ongoing pillage of the world economy by corporate interests.
