Mirroring France’s Tarnac 9, nine people have been charged in Reykjavík for ‘attacking parliament’ in December 2008, when they entered public benches, unarmed and without any violent intent or effort, to shout at congressmen: ‘Get the fxxx out! This building does not serve its purpose any more!’ Which was, in all respects, true. 40 days later public protest outed the government.

The Rift between Teachers and Democrats Widens
The corporate media is brutally honest on rare occasions. Take for example a recent article in The New York Times Magazine, titled The Teachers’ Union’s Last Stand (05-23-10).

The title itself is surprisingly sincere, since it admits that the nation’s teachers are being targeted for attack by the Obama Administration, through his “Race to the Top” education reform. And although the article has an inherently corporate bias, it contains many revelations that have been otherwise ignored in the mainstream media.

Boston Condemns Israel's Military Attack on Humanitarian Flotilla
F3s.JPGBoston, MA, June 3, 2010 – Approximately 500 demonstrators gathered in downtown Boston on Memorial Day to protest the Israeli government’s massacre of unarmed peace activists aboard the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, a convoy of ships bringing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in an attempt to break Israel’s 3-year blockade there. The following day, protesters staged a die-in in front of the Israeli Consulate to commemorate the fallen activists and demand an end to the siege of Gaza.

Israeli Navy Attacks Gaza Aid Flotilla, at Least 14 Dead
Early Monday morning, the Israeli navy attacked a flotilla of six ships in international waters attempting to bring food and medicine to the besieged residents of the Gaza Strip. The attack was carried out with tear gas and live ammunition, and Israeli commandos boarded the flotilla and took control of the ships. Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the Israeli trade minister, told an Israeli television station that 14 to 16 people had been killed in the attack. Dozens more were injured.
