Each of over 200 Indymedia collectives worldwide is completely autonomous, and depends primarily on local contributions for survival. Consequently, we at Boston Indymedia run a very tight ship. Every donation we recieve is put to the best possible use as decided by the collective in a consensus based process. Large and small donations can have a huge effect on our capabilities and outlook for the future.
Currently, Boston Indymedia is all an all volunteer project recieving primarily grassroots support. Only recently have foundations began supporting media projects and it is even more difficult for open publishing projects to recieve this kind of support.
