09 Feb 2009
America can avoid sliding into a full-blown fascist state complete with concentration camps and right wing death squads if we begin to act now. If we fail to act wisely we will face that dreaded moment when the gestapo pounds on our door in the middle of the night.

Will Obama Start the Next Trade War?
06 Feb 2009
While campaigning to be president, Obama gave the general impression that he would act “cooperatively” to solve international problems, moving away from the Bush strategy of irresponsible “unilateralism.”

But Obama took an aggressive stance towards China even on the campaign trail, including the accusations of “currency manipulation,” “violating intellectual property rights,” and “devaluing their goods.” Of course, the average American cares nothing about these types of crimes, nor should they.

A Modest Proposal on Executive Salaries
05 Feb 2009
Larry Ellison is CEO of Oracle Corporation. According to SKORCAREER ( ), Larry Ellison was paid a salary of $192,000,000.00 for his job as CEO of Oracle. This doesn't include any stock compensation he received. If you do the math, Larry Ellison earned an average of $92,307.00 per hour. I'm a computer scientist. During 2007, I worked in a cubicle nine hours per day writing software. When I wasn't in my cubicle, I worked at home on other projects as a consultant. I worked very hard. I'm a very bright person. I have two degrees. Nevertheless, I earned less in a year than Larry Ellison was paid in an hour. I am willing to bet that I did a lot more work during 2007 than Mr. Ellison did. I did that work in cramped conditions. I had lousy health-care insurance. I drove a used car. Something doesn't seem right about Larry Ellison earning more in one hour than I did in a year.
