Does America Really Need Its Own Holocaust?
20 Oct 2008
Modified: 04:20:15 PM
Where are we heading with all this? Will America be satisfied with nothing less than a holocaust perpetrated against anyone who has violated its sexual norms? It seems unthinkable that people who consider themselves progressives should be silent on this issue, and should even, at times, be in the forefront of those who are invested in continuing to ratchet up the sex abuse panic.

Will Obama Be The Depression President?
19 Oct 2008
Ironically some labor groups that support Obama and hope in the future to seek higher wages from corporations might have to forgo those aspirations after corporations are forced to lay off workers to pay for Obama’s increased income taxes.

Like the Nazis of Hitler’s Germany, the Republican campaign is spreading phobia against Marxism to cover up the Republican and Reaganite coddling of Wall Street capitalism, profiteering and deregulation and for the Bush-Paulsen-McCain bailout of Wall Street. Time to stop politicians plumbing out bail-out money and profits for Wall Street capitalism! Time for real, socialist, Marxist change!

Stimulus can put Main Street on the road to recovery
17 Oct 2008
A fiscal stimulus of $300 billion to $400 billion -- about equal to the amount of spending wiped out by the decline in house prices -- will avert a deep downturn and put the economy back on the path to growth. The stimulus package should include temporary measures to boost consumption and to enable states and municipalities to maintain services such as extending unemployment benefits, temporary tax rebates to low-income households and block grants to states to support spending on Medicaid and child health programs, on education and training and on social services. Investments in infrastructure and in energy-conserving retrofitting of houses, businesses and government buildings would engage hard-hit construction firms and their employees while contributing to the long-term growth potential of the economy. Investments in literacy, education and health care reform would increase the productivity of American workers and businesses.
