Deregulated Markets and Alternative Economics
17 Jun 2008
In the last ten years there was more speculation than ever, more than before the 1930 worldwide economic crisis. A policy of deregulated financial markets made this possible. That real investment profits turn out relatively small encourages the speculation tendency.

Working people relying on stimulus checks, coins and lotto
16 Jun 2008
The platforms of the Socialist Party USA and Peace and Freedom Party outline fundamental approaches that will promote economic policy that will benefit working people. 16 Jun 2008

Recess for Justice
15 Jun 2008
Join Socializing for Justice (SoJust) for Recess on Sunday, June 22nd at 1pm. Arrive by yourself or bring your outdoorsy friends!

Recess for Justice is going down at Southwest Corridor Park right off Lamartine and Boylston Streets in JP. (Exit Stonybrook T station on the Orange line, walk directly across the street to the park - we'll be on the field and in the courts right in front of you.)

Bring your favorite outdoor game or check out the assortment of fun we'll have on hand: Frisbees, kickball & chalk (for 4-square!), nerf football, softball (bring a glove) and whatever other randomness we can think of. If it's hot we can run through the fountain sprinkler to cool off.

Around 3pm we'll start to figure out what to do next. We might go to Ula Cafe or Java Jo's for coffee, smoothies, snacks and board games (bring 'em!).

Look no further if want to cross-promote your events and campaigns while tossing around a Frisbee, you're seeking like-minded folks to share a game of 4-square with, or are new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in. If you want to build a strong cross-issue social justice movement, SoJust is for you!

No Program. No Speaker. Just fun.

RSVP (and check out photos from the last time we held Recess for Justice) at - newcomers always welcome!

Fee: $2 to cover group expenses.

At SoJust events you can hang out with friends, make new ones, find a date, get the scoop on a job, and find out what's going on this weekend - political or social. And the best part is that SoJust members share your vision of building a more just world.

Want to connect outside of SoJust events? Members view and post events, job & volunteer announcements, roommate searches, etc. on the website - just click 'Messages'. The SoJust Calendar is packed with social justice-related events held throughout Greater Boston. Help us keep it filled - tell us about events you hear about.
