Pentagon report on China highlights danger of nuclear war
26 Jun 2006
One sinister aspect of the US Defence Department’s 2006 report on the Chinese military released last month is its discussion of nuclear policy.
Overall, the document entitled “Annual Report to Congress: Military Power of the People’s Republic of China” marked a more aggressive US military stance toward China than in previous years. It identified the Chinese regime as a military rival and highlighted its growing defence spending, particularly its investment in advanced military technology (see: “Pentagon report targets China as a military threat”).

Richard Perle: A Serial Warmonger!
26 Jun 2006
Richard Perle is at it again! He tossed a hizzy fit when the Bush-Cheney Gang decided to have “talks” with Iran over their disputed nuclear program. The Mother of All Neocons implied President George W. Bush was a coward. He said the President “blinked” and that the Mullahs had “glared” him down. Perle has no shame! He helped to create the disaster which is the Iraqi War. Now, he wants to set the stage for a repeat U.S. performance with Iran.

By D. Burbeck

surprise.

Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen?
26 Jun 2006
Authors Joel Bleifuss and Steven F. Freeman discuss strong evidence that the 2004 Election results may well have tampered with, robbing the People of a fair election and giving the White Huse (once again) to Bush. Essay is based on their forthcoming book onthe same subject.

Taking Impeachment on the Road
26 Jun 2006
Modified: 11:05:43 AM

What’s Next for the Palestinians - Starvation?
26 Jun 2006
Modified: 08:33:08 AM
Since 01/06, when the Palestinians elected a Hamas-dominated government, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have accelerated their brutal treatment. After Israeli PM, Ehud Olmert, appeared before the lapdog U.S. Congress on May 31, 2006, the IOF also slaughtered 32 Palestinians, including 10 children. On 06/23/06, Tim Rothermel and Laila El-Haddad, at a Capitol Hill forum, warned that the Palestinians may, eventually, face starvation, too.

THE LEFT'S ISRAEL LOBBY DENIAL As Exemplified by Stephen Zunes, U. of San Francisco
25 Jun 2006
Unlike the lies and omissions of the mainstream media, the Left, in general, is good at telling the truth about Israel's oppression of the Palestinians. But the Left's unwillingness to accept the Israel lobby's role, as one of the most significant obstacles to justice for the Palestinians, in shaping U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East helps to maintain that very policy. Certain Leftists (like Noam Chomsky or Stephen Zunes) actually function as Israel lobby APOLOGISTS and, in that sense, in effect, back door Zionists. It's okay for them to criticize Gentiles who organize (e.g., "Christian Zionists" or Gentiles in the ruling class) for their responsibility in perpetuating the oppression of the Palestinians, but to criticize Zionist Jews (including Jewish neocons) who organize for the same purpose is considered taboo, and for that even some Leftist authorities will label others as "anti-Semitic" – or (as Zunes alternately says) as “_thinking_ like an anti-Semite.” In the past, one used to be labeled “anti-Semitic” for criticizing the state of Israel at all; now, some still call others “anti-Semitic” for criticizing the Israel lobby. The International Socialist Organization and the 2006 election
23 Jun 2006
The International Socialist Organization is holding a conference this weekend in New York City under the slogan “Socialism 2006—Build the Left, Fight the Right.”

An examination of the perspective upon which this gathering has been organized, however, makes clear that it is aimed at promoting a “left” variety of bourgeois politics, in the form of the Green Party, which can serve only to divert a mass movement that arises against the right-wing policies of the two major parties and lead it into a political dead end.
