Deadly Idiocy: Killing Killers Who Want to be Killed |
by Dave Lindorff dlindorff (nospam) yahoo.com (verified) |
29 Jan 2005
|
|
The sheer stupidity and bloodymindedness of the death penalty crowd is on view in the decision to seek the death penalty for a guy who caused a train wreck while trying to kill himself. It's a little like giving money to a convicted bank robber, isn't it? |

The Benderman Cause |
by World Productions (No verified email address) |
28 Jan 2005
|
I felt compelled to support the Benderman's cause in
any way I could, so I am providing America some
arguments that I would use in a court of law to
defend your freedoms. If America would so desire,
I would also be prepared to make a recorded
statement from here in Canada. |

Amy Goodman Interviews Gore Vidal |
by Messenger (No verified email address) |

|
GORE VIDAL: I don't see much future for the United States, and I put it on economic grounds. Forget moral grounds. We're far beyond any known morality, and we are embarked upon a kind of war against the rest of the world. I think that the thing that will save us, and it will probably come pretty fast, when they start monkeying around with Social Security, that will cause unrest. Meanwhile, the costs of the wars the cost of rebuilding the cities immediately after we knock them down |

Fuel Air Explosives (A Quick Introduction) |
by student rtx (nospam) booboo.com (unverified) |
28 Jan 2005
|
Just like nuclear warheads, but with no damaging effects on the environment like radiation, fuel air explosives are, it seems, already being used by the US military. As I understand it, they incinerate the air within a space, and are designed for "penetration"-- that is, they can punch cleanly through walls and then explode. This excerpted article printed in Armada International (a defense industry magazine) last year is a real eye-opener for activists opposing the current war in Iraq/ the whole damn Middle East.
Note the distancing of the author from the destruction these thermobaric weapons cause-- the euphemisms like "sort them out" to mean "kill them" and icily technical jargon. Defense industry specialists like Mr. Biass (what an ironic name!) clearly are not your friend. |

Bush's secret journalistic payroll keeps getting longer |
by Dave Lindorff dlindorff (nospam) yahoo.com (verified) |
28 Jan 2005
|
|
Word that the Bush administration has been paying journalistic shills to pimp for its programs tells us something about the state of the media, but also about those programs: they don’t stand up to genuine scrutiny and need paid propaganda to sell them to the public. |
