Leaked memos show Iraq War conspiracy
24 Jun 2005
The shock-and-awe invasion of Iraq was not a “war of last resort.” The “regime change” had nothing to do weapons of mass destruction [WMD] or “terrorism” or defense of neighboring countries or nuclear capability.

The cat’s out of the bag now. All that was just a pretext created by U.S. and British imperialism.

EXPOSED - Center for Consumer Freedom
24 Jun 2005
The Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) (formerly called the "Guest Choice Network") is a front group for the restaurant, alcohol and tobacco industries. It runs media campaigns which oppose the efforts of scientists, doctors, health advocates, environmentalists and groups like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, calling them "the Nanny Culture -- the growing fraternity of food cops, health care enforcers, anti-meat activists, and meddling bureaucrats who 'know what's best for you.

Romney eyes penalties for those lacking insurance
24 Jun 2005
I read the first bit of this very, very scary article in the globe when it came out. Massachusets medicaid/free care system, inadequate though it may be, is one of the ONLY even half-way decent safety nets in the ENTIRE country. Yet another neo-con attempt to gut a good social welfare program and transform it into a punishment for not being rich.

Ann Wright on the Follies of Bush’s War
23 Jun 2005
One of the unsung heroes of the opposition to the Iraqi War is Ann Wright. Rather than support the war, she resigned her position with the State Dept. on March 19, 2003. Ms. Wright, a career diplomat for over 16 years, who had also served in the military, believes the Downing Street Memos have plenty of ammunition in them to support impeachment proceeding against President George W. Bush and criminal charges against others in his administration.
