Nick Giannone, the last of the three DNC defendants, was acquitted today. He was charged with assaulting BPD superintendent Dunford.

Ben Hecht & Sami Al-Arian: What’s the Difference?

The late Ben Hecht tried to save the Jews of Europe from the Nazi onslaught. Sami Al-Arian is struggling to lift the cruel Israeli occupation off the backs of the Palestinians. Hecht was praised for his First Amendment efforts, while Al-Arian faces trial in Florida “for supporting terrorism!” A devout Muslim, he has been a leader in the Tampa, Florida community. Al-Arian has also been fired from his tenured teaching position at the U. of South Florida.

Reports suggest that the CURRENT US casualty count sits at around 9,000, no waiting five, ten years. The discrepancy arises from the Pentagon's decision NOTb to count among the dead those poor US kids who died in hospital, or en route, of their wounds. If I know that, why doesn't the "news" media?

After almost a year of preliminary hearings, the trial of Nick Giannone has reached the stage of jury deliberation and they were "hopelessly deadlocked" when court adjourned today. Tomorrow, at 10:30 a.m., Judge Forde will instruct the jury that they should attempt to reach a unanimous decision. If no decision is made a mistrial will be declared and in all likelyhood the case will be retried.
