The Explosion of the 9-11 Truth Movement -- U.S. Media's Dirty Little Secret by Bill Douglas, Co-Founder -National;
18 Jan 2005
A mass movement and a mountain of disturbing evidence has been growing beneath the radar of U.S. media. The U.S. media (including alternative media) has done an extraordinarily superhuman job of "hearing" "seeing" and "speaking no evil." However, almost immediately after 9-11-2001's horrendous attacks on New York and Washington D.C., many researchers, ordinary citizens, and journalists [who've been given precious little print in U.S. papers or TV] began to smell something rotten . . . not in Denmark . . . but rather, right here in the good ol' US of A.

See No Evil: What Bush Didn't (Want To) Know About 9/11 by Greg Palast
17 Jan 2005
On my BBC television show, Newsnight, an American journalist confessed that, since the 9/11 attacks, U.S. reporters are simply too afraid to ask the uncomfortable questions that could kill careers: "It's an obscene comparison, but there was a time in South Africa when people would put flaming tires around people's necks if they dissented. In some ways, the fear is that you will be neck-laced here, you will have a flaming tire of lack of patriotism put around your neck," Dan Rather said. Without his makeup, Rather looked drawn, old and defeated in confessing that he too had given in. "It's that fear that keeps journalists from asking the toughest of the tough questions and to continue to bore in on the tough questions so often."

Straight up—Bush and his people aren’t just ordinary Republicans. And they’re not ordinary Christians either. They are Christian Fascists—dangerous fanatics who aim to make the U.S. a religious dictatorship and to force this upon the world. If they get their way—and they are very far along the road to getting it—society will be plunged into a high-tech Dark Ages.

Those who compare Bush to Hitler are right! But, don’t be waiting for people wearing little mustaches and marching the Nazi goose-step to come to your town. This brand of fascism is coming differently, and it's coming straight from the White House.

NY Times Iraq Death Chart Omits Worst Slaughter: Civilians Killed by US Military
17 Jan 2005
A Brookings Institution analysis of the deaths caused in Iraq over a 2-week period is misleading. It completely omits the deaths caused by U.S. forces, which would likely have more than doubled the total, and increased the civilian death total even more dramatically.

In Catch 22 Ruling, Israeli Judge Silences Jewish American Activist
17 Jan 2005
An Israeli judge today refused to hear US Jewish lesbian activist
Kate Raphael Bender's appeal of her deportation. Judge Tal said he
could not hear Raphael Bender's case because her visa was no longer
valid. Her visa expired yesterday, after five weeks in detention.
Nonetheless, in a minor procedural victory, the judge ruled that
Raphael Bender's appeal of her deportation would remain undecided,
allowing her the possibility to return at a later time and reopen
the appeal.
