There is Always More to a Story than its Headline
12 May 2004
Modified: 09:56:59 PM

That headline read, “Savages: Iraqi mob kills and burns 4 American civilians.” (Boston Herald, April 1, 2004, My mind raced. There had to be more to the story then what they were telling us in the headline. I mean, could the very people we were there to liberate suddenly become the savages the papers wanted to see massacred? Was there more to this story? Well, indeed there is always more to any story.

Barbara, his mom, wearing her trademark pearls and gently wiping the tears from her son's face. Laura his wife of 27 years was soothing the wrinkles on his forehead; while his father, the elder Bush, stoically declared: "You should have gotten out of Iraq when you had the chance."

The Bush administration thinks and acts like an irresponsible corporate board -- it is obessed with secrecy, accepts little or no accountability, and behaves like it owes duty
to none but itself. Like the Wall Street CEOs so many of them have been, this administration assumes a self-regulating posture. This is not following constitutional principles, it is gangster logic. Should it now come as a shock to us to learn that Iraqis are being tortued and humiliated ?

IMC Needs Better Marketing
11 May 2004
Ideas on how to improve readership and interest in publishing on Independent Media Center. Why the right to right as a citizen is important. Opportunities to write more opinion than the scrawny Letters to the Editors that are hacked up to a few sentences is a way to go. Can’t main stream media practice democracy?
