Harvard Students Stage Sit-In for a Living Wage!

50 students took over Harvard's main administrative building on April 18, demanding a living wage of $10.25 per hour for campus service workers. The sit-in is now in its fourteenth day, and has gained the endorsement of hundreds of Harvard faculty, students, as well as Senator Ted Kennedy and AFL-CIO president John Sweeney.

APRIL 23rd - APRIL 27th, 2001

For World Week for Animals in Laboratories, Boston Citizens for Animal Liberation (BCAL) organized a full week of events against Stephen's Inc, the largest investor in Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS). HLS is the world's second largest contract animal testing facility and operates two labs in the United Kingdom and one in New Jersey. Stephen's loaned HLS $33 million dollars in January 2001 to save the lab from bankruptcy.
