The Massachusetts Institute of Technology web logo is always changing, and for once, one of the most militarily connected research universities in the US has given peace a chance (symbolically anyhow...). Look for yourself! <http://web.mit.edu>
This symbol appeared on the web site briefly the morning of Sept 17, but mysteriously vanished. Was it a peace-loving hacker at work? Was it official and the administration temporarily bowed to pressure from reactionary war-mongering nationalists? We may never know, but many of us here at MIT are glad the symbol seems to have gotten one full day in the sun!
International A.N.S.W.E.R. is a coalition that is uniting to call for worldwide rallies against war and racism. On September 29, there will be a national march and rally at the White House in Washington DC, as well as marches on the West Coast of the U.S. and around the world. We call on all people of conscience and progressive organizations to take up this call and organize rallies around the world.
