On Friday, February 16th and Saturday, February 17th, members of the Anti-Capitalist Convergence (CLAC) in Montreal, and the Summit of the Americas Welcoming Committee (CASA) in Quebec City, will be making a Boston stop on their anti-FTAA caravan tour of the Northeast in anticipation of the upcoming Summit of the Americas meeting in Quebec City this April 2001.
The caravan, in collaboration with local groups, will be presenting workshops and presentations on the FTAA, the Summit of the Americas, as well the broader context of capitalist globalization. Other topic areas include: women and globalization; the colour of resistance; the situation
on the ground in Quebec City; anti-authoritarian and participatory organizing; and more. We are particularly interested in strategizing beyond the "summit-hopping" dynamic of Quebec City.
A diverse group of students at Wellesley College is protesting the institution's protracted neglect of curricular and student life issues concerning its largest minority population, Asian and Asian American students.
