MASSIVE DOLLAR AWARDS FOR THOSE WHO JOIN "COALITION OF THE WILLING" FOR WAR (english)
22 Feb 2003
The massive public demonstrations in opposition to the Iraq War plan,
plus the diplomatic resistance and the opposition of top USA and British military to these hare-brained utopian air/war schemes
has put the Chickenhawks into a tizzy. They're NOT going to take this flying down!!! The flight-forward of the Angloamerican foreign policy in front ot the tsumi of the accellerating financial collapse
has exposed the behind-the-scenes promotors of a would-be World War 3.

MASSIVE DOLLAR AWARDS FOR THOSE WHO JOIN "COALITION OF
WILLING" FOR WAR. A number of leading European news dailies,
including the London {Times}, shed some light today on the
backroom dollar deals with which the Bush Administration is
securing "allies" in the planned war on Iraq.

As the {Times} writes in a graphic display under the
headline, "The Mighty Dollar Goes to War," the following
countries which the United States wants to vote for war at the UN
Security Council, are being offered the following in return:

Mexico--improved immigration regulations; Bulgaria--U.S. support
for entry into the European Union, and increased military
cooperation with NATO; Africa (Angola, Guinea,
Cameroon)--development aid and increased international status;
Chile--strengthened position in talks on U.S. trade tariffs;
Russia--guarantees on $10-12 billion of Iraqi debt, and possible oil contracts.

Egypt has been offered $1 billion, and U.S. support for the
Middle East peace process; Israel is expected to give tacit
assurance not to retaliate if attacked by Iraq, in return for $12
billion in direct aid and loan guarantees, plus a U.S. promise of defense.

Furthermore, the following countries which are expected to
grant military assistance or help with logistics, have been
offered in return: Hungary--enhanced international status and
financial support; Turkey--at least $26 billion in direct aid and
loans; Jordan--$1 billion in direct and military assistance.

As Germany's {Die Welt} daily wrote, Spain has numerous
offers on the table, most of them discussed during Florida Gov.
Jeb Bush's visit a few days ago: investment bonuses for Spanish
enterprises, plus U.S. investments in Spain; a profitable U.S.
price for the sale of the IZAR shipyard, which also produces
frigates. Jeb Bush's meeting with Cesar Alierta, the CEO of
Spain's Telefonica firm, may indicate some additional deals in
the telecom sector, which prompted Jose Luis Rodriguez, chairman
of the Socialist party, to attack the government earlier this
week, for "selling the peace for a few dollars."

WASHINGTON, D.C. Feb. 20 (EIRNS)--CHICKENHAWKS HAVE ALREADY
STARTED BEATING THE DRUMS ON THE IRAN NUCLEAR PROGRAM, as the
Pentagon continues the build-up for military action against Iraq.

In two separate, but obviously coordinated events, the American
Enterprise Institute held a forum attacking the Russian
collaboration with Iran, featuring its chief speaker, Henry
Sokolski, the former Senate staffer who has groomed himself as
the "proliferation expert" of the chickenhawk loonies. Sokolski's
line at the AEI forum was that Iran is clearly building a nuclear
weapon, and that they are using Russian technical assistance to
do so. He even got into a tussle with fellow chickenhawk Ariel
Cohen, who wishes to maintain cooperation with the Russians,
which Sokolski is prepared to scrap if they continue to cooperate
with Iran.

Meanwhile, across town, the National Council of Resistance
of Iran (NCRI), formerly known as the Iranian Moujaheddin,
presented new "evidence," including satellite pictures of a site
at Natanz, Iran, at which they claim the Iranians are working on
testing centrifuges and working on enriched uranium production.
The anti-government NCRI was earlier rumored to be backed by the
Iraqi government in its fight with Tehran, but these days they
downplay their connections with Iraq. Undoubtedly hoping to
become the Quislings if the United States ever invades Iran, they
have also found it suitable to stop calling themselves the
"Peoples' Mujaheddin." "Our only interest is in overthrowing the
government of the mullahs," spokesman Alireza Jafarzadeh told his
audience. They also claimed that Iran was working on producing
heavy water at a site at Arak.

While the Iranians have committed to developing a full
fuel-cycle nuclear energy program, the site at Natanz has
apparently not been under International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA) inspection. The purpose of this "expose" is to focus
interest on this alleged "nuclear site." While most of the press
ignored the NCRI press conference, CNN did give it prominent
coverage. IAEA representatives told CNN that they intended to
travel to Iran in February and that they wanted to visit the
sites in Natanz, and Arak. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), also
contacted by CNN, called the news "disturbing." "We don't need
another nuclear power," Shelby growled. "Not with Iran sponsoring
terrorism that it has in the past."

FORMER BUSH SPEECHWRITER DAVID FRUM CLEARLY INDICATES THAT
THE RUMSFELD-CHENEY FACTION HAS FULLY ADOPTED the Michael
Ledeen/Richard Perle "domino theory" in their efforts to launch
war against Iraq. In depicting the Powell-Rumsfeld fight, Frum
characterizes the Rumsfeld position in the following manner:

"Alternatively, should the United States take President Bush's
words literally and continue the war on terror until terrorism
was entirely uprooted from Middle Eastern and Muslim politics? If
the United States overthrew Saddam Hussein next [after
Afghanistan], it could create a reliable American ally in the
potential superpower of the Arab world. With American troops so
close, the Iranian people would be emboldened to rise against the
mullahs. And as Iran and Iraq built moderate, representative,
pro-Western regimes, the pressure on the Saudis and the other
Arab states to liberalize and modernize would intensify. It was
quite a gamble but also quite a prize," Frum writes. While Cheney
clearly sided with Rumsfeld, according to Frum, the tight-lipped
Rice didn't indicate her position in this fight. Nevertheless,
Frum writes,"with every passing day after Sept. 11, she seemed to
edge closer and closer to Rumsfeld."
