Boston Globe Brown-noses Bush on War (english)
13 Mar 2003
hundreds protest at Harvard, Boston Globe buries its head up it's a**
Hundreds of students, faculty, staff of Harvard University staged a rally on Wed March 12, 2003, to vigorously protest the unlawful, unjust, venal war plans of the Bush administration.

The story was reported today (March 13th) on Page 2 in the Boston Herald, Page 6 in the Boston Metro, page 1 of the Harvard Crimson, and was on the Associated Press newswire by 4:00pm of March 12th.

But did the Boston Globe report on this? Nowhere!

The editor of Boston Globe, Martin Baron, responded to my email in October of 2002, when I complained about the miserably coverage of nationwide Oct 6th anti-war protests. (The Oct 7th Globe featured only a photo of a dozen people in Los Angeles saying "hundreds" of protesters rallied against the war...while thousands were marching in the sreets of Boston!)

Baron's comment: "there wasn't enough empirical evidence to warrant coverage of anti-war protests."

Empirical evidence? Why is it that for the first time in human history, when millions of people around the world are united in opposing an unjust war, that the editor of a major newspaper can't recognize their existence?

This war is wrong! It is a self-serving adventure planned by a small cabal of neoconservative hawks (Perle, Feith, Wolfowitz, Cheney, Rumsfeld). These men want to foment chaos, more terrorism, a clash of civilizations. Why? Because they profit from wars! They scream terrorism and raise the defense budget, spending billions on useless and unecessary missile defense shields. Will that protect the people of the United States? NO!

The war-crazed Bush administration doesn't give a damn about the health and safety of the people of the United States! They are traitors! They are just trying to stir up more terrorism attacks on us, the ordinary citizens who do not live in armed bunkers surrounded by secret service agents. As soon as we suffer and die again, Cheney-Ridge-Ashcroft will come shouting to the microphones: "Look, you see! It's those terrorists! Raise the DEFENSE BUDGET! It's NATIONAL SECURITY!"

Wake up people! Call you Senator! Call your Congressman! This war needs to be re-opened for debate in the legislature.

As for the Boston Globe, what a shameless rag it is. The editors are utter brown-nosed toadies of the war camp. Disgusting.

I never thought I would see the day when the Boston Herald seemed to take a more objective editorial stance than the Globe.

Read the Metro! To hell with the Globe!

Baron, you want "empirical evidence?" See the anti-war archive:

which was inspired by your stupidity!
