Hope in Action 2003 Conference Hits Boston (english)

ACTIVISTS, CITIZENS TO GATHER FOR BOSTON AREA CONFERENCE ON TURNING HOPE INTO ACTION. Hope in Action 2003 Conference to Focus On Steps To Reform, How To Get Involved in Making Change Happen. First Day of Conference is Open to Members of Public at No Charge.
BOSTON, MA. More than 400 citizens and activists from New England and the rest of the U.S. are expected to attend the Hope in Action Conference, to be held June 13-15, 2003 at Babson College in Wellesley, MA in the Boston area. The three-day gathering will offer seminars and teachings for those who want to make lasting and positive change addressing the world's ills. The event will focus on child advocacy, education reform, violence prevention, environmental awareness, community building, peace and nonviolence issues and corporate ethics.

The keynote speakers will include, among others:

* Francis Moore Lappe, food activist and author;

* Patch Adams, physician and clown;

* Marjorie Kelly, anti-corporate activist and author; and

* Geoffrey Canada, noted child advocate.

Friday (June 13) will be Community Day, free to the general public. Saturday and Sunday (June 14-15) will focus on seminars and plenary sessions for activists and the general public choosing to learn more about how they may enact social and environmental change.
