WMA Provides Wireless FreeNet Service IN Nashua NH (english)

A section of downtown Nashua, NH now has free internet access for anyone with a wireless card in their computor, thanks to an agreement between the WMA (White Mountain Autonoma) and datasquire.net, a local web provider.

To take advantage of this, one must be using a computor with a wireless card within 1500 feet of the corners of Ash Street and West Hollis Street. This covers a residential neighborhood that is predominantly working class, with a surprisingly large proportion having computors.

"Access to the internet is a neccessity for the expression of free speech in today's world", stated a representative for Datasquire. "We are committed to providing service for our fellow workers, and the establishment of the wireless freenet is a small initiatory step to making free speech truly free".

Datasquire, a local Nashua, NH internet service provider that traditionally makes work-related decisions through the concensus process where all have equal say on the company's management, has a local reputation for providing web space and secure e-mail accounts to both activists and independent craftsmen. Datasquire has plans to double the reception area for the freenet in the near future to a 3000 foot radius, as well as providing additional services oriented to the working class nieghborhood in which it is located. Those wishing further information on Datasquire's community involvement at contact them at brian (at) datasquire.net.

good work people! (english)

Although recognize that most people do not have laptops, let alone a wireless card. There's a serious class dimension that cannot be ignored... but good work anyway.

You don't need a laptop. An ordinary PC will do. External wireless nodes cost about $50.00. Most PC's now have network cards. So, on average, it should cost no more and a one time purchase of $50.00 to set a PC owner up with this free service. That's a good deal.
