John Ashkkkroft Strikes Again (english)

John Ashcroft's latest statements concerning the Jeremy Morse trial are angering activists across the country, but slipping past the kkkorporate media machine.
When asked during a press conference about his feelings towards the mistrial of Jeremy Morse, the kop who brutalized an African-American teenager in Kalifornia, John Ashcroft didn't have much to say.
But what he said has raised a lot of attention.
"Video tape evidence that's put on permanent repeat on the TV news has always been a highly unreliable source of evidence," Ashcroft said to a handful of journalists on Thursday. "A mistrial may very well be the best result for this case, since the police officer's reputation has suffered public trial for over a year now."
"The officer was only doing his job. The law needs to have an upper hand to put criminals in their place," he continued. "I urge everyone involved in the judicial process to halt any attempt for a retrial. Those people can't be allowed to win this game again."
The head of the Injustice Department's attempt to downplay yet another obvious attempt at the system to keep African-American and working class citizens in their place is causing a stir among leftists all over.
"The Attorney General's comments are just another big drop in an enormous bucket of fascism the Republican administration and the American right wing is forcing on the public," said Adam Jackson, a community leader and activist from Culver City, CA. "Mr. Morse beat a black kid because he was black. All of it is caught on tape, and anybody who can't see that is blind, stupid, or a liar."
Jackson challenged Ashcroft to step down and urge reform in the judiciary and law enforcement throughout the country. "We've had enough of this treatment, and we will accept no more. Mr. Ashcroft must right all the wrongs immediately by completely overhauling the system in this country and resign from his post."
One suggestion from Jackson was a change in the juror selection process.
"Any trial against a white man accused of crime against an African-American should be required to have a jury of at least half blacks," he suggested. "This will keep the white man from getting away time and time again with murder, rape, and brutality."
Joan Archet, a protestor from Santa Monica, had even less kind words about the Attorney Furher.
"'Those people'? Ashcroft has overstepped his authority time and time again. His racist comments come as no surprise to me, coming from an old white man from Missouri, let alone from the man we know for this kind of fascism," she said. This man must be stopped. We must impeach the entire Bush regime and democratically elect a new administration with a socially progressive platform." |
