Sunday - Sept. 28, 2003
International Day of Protest Against Occupation and Empire
From Palestine to Iraq to Colombia to Korea to the Phillipines to Cuba and Everywhere

Boston Rally/March
12:30 - Copley Sq.

The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition expresses its solidarity with
the call issued by the Arab progressive movement, the European peace movement,
and others who are holding activities timed to coincide with the third
anniversary of the second Palestinian Intifada (which began on September 28, 2000).

The people of Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Philippines and Colombia continue to resist
empire and colonial rule. Bush built his case for war against Iraq on a foundation of lies
and racism. Now, Iraqi people and U.S. soldiers are dying daily. While millions are jobless,
with education, healthcare, and children in crisis, the Pentagon is spending $150 million/day
on the occupation of Iraq! This year the U.S. is sending more than $10 billion to Israel -
while an Israeli Apartheid Wall is institutionalizing colonial Bantustans and imprisoning
an entire population with our money. The Pentagon is fighting in Afghanistan, the Philippines
and Colombia, and threatening new wars against Korea, Syria, and Cuba. "Regime Change" is
being proposed for Iran and Zimbabwe.

With every military occupation, resistance mounts - and working people in the U.S. end up
paying the price. In order to pay for this massive military buildup and the $1 trillion
dollar tax cut for corporations and the wealthy the Bush administration is waging a relentless
war at home against working, poor and oppressed people.

Our communities need money for education, housing, healthcare, childcare and jobs not for a global war for empire.

Not every one is suffering of course: Bechtel, Halliburton, Big Oil and military contractors
stand to make billions from colonizing Iraq. How many children of politicians or corporate
executives are fighting in Iraq? While pretending to "support the troops," Bush and Congress
are slashing veterans' benefits. Secure in the White House, Bush proclaimed "bring 'em on,"
inviting Iraqi resistance fighters to U.S. troops. We say, "Bring the Troops Home Now!"

Sept. 25-28, people around the world will join in International Days of protest Against War,
Occupation and Empire on the 3rd anniversary of the Palestinian Intifada (uprising). Join us.

In Boston, there will be a demonstration on Sunday, September 28, starting at Copley Sq.
at 12:30pm followed by a march thru Boston. We are calling on all New England organizers to
mobilize to come to Boston for this important demonstration to tell the Bush administration in one voice that “We Say No to Occupation and Empire from Iraq to
Palestine! Bring the Troops Home Now! We Need Money for Jobs, Education, Housing and Healthcare” Organize at your school, work, or community group.
Spread the word.
