WTO: It's No Walk On The Beach solidarity beach party Sept 13 (english)
06 Sep 2003

pdf poster attached
Starting September 9th the World Trade Oraganization (WTO) will be meeting in Cancun Mexico to try to sign agreements that benefit the rich and corporate elites at the expense of the rest of the world; to pass policies that ensure the common voice goes unheard. But we refuse to remain silent. We raise our voices and say, "No to the WTO!" and we continue to build the foundation for a better world.

On September 13th in Boston we will join our voices with those people in Cancun and around the world who are fighting for a new world. In honor of the WTO conference being held in Cancun, intentionally developed in the 1970's as an international tourist destination, we are holding a Cancun Solidarity Beach Party on Saturday Sept. 13th, 2pm at Downtown Crossing. The event kicks off with some street theatre and then the beach party breaks out. So dress for the beach, sunglasses and hawaiian shirts, bathing suits and beach towels to work on your tan with, beach balls and other beach toys to entice the shopping crowds and turn downtown crossing into an anti-captitalist beach party.
