The Boston Police Department’s Special Operation Unit Engages in COINTELPRO (english)

They kicked over my stickers and told me to move from my spot in Harvard Square.

The Boston Police Department’s Special Operation
Unit Retaliates for Publishing Photos of Their Operatives - Engages in
COINTELPRO Operation
by Stephen DeVoy
Shortly after publishing

my catalog of photos detailing the Boston Police Special Ops squad
responsible for
harassing anarchists at the March 29, 2003 demonstration in Boston, a
strange reply, quite unprecedented as a response to posting pictures of
protesters, was posted as a comment, on Boston IndyMedia. Having experienced
more than a year of COINTELPRO aimed at myself and my websites, I immediately
suspected that the post was part of
the
COINTELPRO operation and responded to it as such.
Today, the website hosting the photos of the
Boston Police Special Ops unit was hit by a denial of service attack. Viewing
the web logs, I found that many hits were referred to by the website
http://www.guardroom.com.
Specifically, the page
http://www.guardroom.com/jjdaley/ features an article directly
assaulting me websites and characterizing them as a “local phoney anarchist.”
The wording of his post and his characterization of female protesters on my
websites match, nearly word for word, the aforementioned post on IndyMedia:

Conclusion: I was right. The posts on
IndyMedia were made by a cop. Now, after investigating the owner of the cop
page, I found that his name is “John Daley.” He owns the website “The Boston
Police Special Operations - Youth Violence Strike Force” which can be found at:

An earlier post in response to my posting of
photos depicting this Special Operations Unit stated that the Special Ops group
knew who I was and would be keeping an eye on me.
Upon publishing an article concerning the
connection between Boston Police Special Operations and the IndyMedia
harassment, my article received a flood of comments from the same COINTELPRO
group that has been harassing me for more than a year.
Coincidence? I don’t think so. The fact is,
COINTELPRO is alive and well. The Boston Police Special Operations Unit is
involved in online harassment of activists.
