Here's a flyer that I made to advertise the WTO protests this saturday, the 13th, in Boston. Print it and post it as many places as you can if you wish.

Very interesting, Veritas (english)

Why such short notice? And by the way, why are you a member of KOBE?
Interesting thread on Portland IndyMedia (english)
11 Sep 2003
While browsing around looking for news, I found this strange threat on Portland IndyMedia. In this thread, "Veritas" tells the world that he hopes I'll show up for a meeting with him on Saturday at 2:00PM. The interesting thing is Veritas never invited me to such a meeting. I found this thread accidently while gathering news for my website:

Now, Veritas also posted, on Monday Evening, a request for activists to post their tactics for the Ashcroft protest on Boston IndyMedia, something that would only have aided the police.

I find this very interesting. I'd like to hear from others that we know concerning whether a WTO protest was scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 before Veritas made this post.

Actually, someone posted a notice of this last weekend or something, they just didn't include a big, flashy poster to catch you attention.

That said, I have a question about the poster. Why "anti-capitalists"? I am one myself (I'm an anarcho-pacifist), but I would think we would want to build the movement beyond that. If we invite just anti-capitalists, the turn out will most likely be rather small. Most NGOs and farmers (for instance) are not anti-capitalist--they're just anti-neoliberal. I think it's important to build a broad movement against neoliberalism, within which there should be an anti-capitalist current. But there's not enough of us anti-capitalists to fight corporate globalization all on our own.

That said, I'm nor really sure that I would want anti-capitalists of all ideologies to turn out. You know in Russia they have fascist Leninists (the red-brown alliance)? And, in general, although there are certainly exceptions, most Leninists are really sectarian and difficult to work with. (Go ahead, accuse me of red-baiting.) My enemy's enemy is not necessarily my friend.
Personally, I support an anti-WTO protest. (english)

In fact, if it could be turned into a weekly occupation of Downtown Crossing, that would be even better. I'm sticking to the weekly event in Harvard Square myself, simply because it has been a wonderful experience, it is growing, and I would like to see it become permanant.

There are enough activists in the Boston Area to occupy 10 or 12 strategic points in the Boston Area simultaneously. While I still believe that Veritas is not what he seems, I suggest that we turn his invitation into a real event.

I will be gathering with my comrades in Harvard Square. If some other group of anarchists, communists, liberals, progressives, or whatever want to begin a second occupation point, please do organize it.

My own plan is to help the Harvard occupation grow. If it reaches a critical size, we may wish to gather a few of us together some week and organize a similar event in another city such as Worcester or Providence as a seed effort in the hope that locals in Worcester and/or Providence can keep the event going in their own cities on their own.

Keep in mind that the weekly Harvard Square event is open to all. There is no reason why it could not become a nexus for anti-WTO protesting too. There is also no reason why there should not be multiple places for an anti-WTO event.

The advantage of the disorganized resistance methodology, as we've seen so far, is that unlike a normal protest, there is much more interaction between passers-by, tourists, and activists. It is a great way of educating people and distributing information.

#, I don't know why you think I am a member of KOBE, because I had never even heard of them until Stephen Devoy claimed that I was "Georege Bullock" and was associated with KOBE. I also still have no idea who George Bullock is, nor do I really care.

@, I actually did invite you to this meeting at 2:00 saturday, so I could prove that I actually am active in Boston and I'm not just a fake posting on here.

"So meet me on saturday, and please let us clear this up once and for all.

Once again, black boots, tight black pants, orange shirt with a hood, green bandana around the neck, and light brown hair. Between 2:00 and 2:30 outside the Downtown Crossing subway stop.

That's exactly what I posted, although three or four threads have been deleted off of Boston Indymedia, I don't really know why. It was on one of those, I guess it was deleted before you saw it.

And I know it's kind of late to put up a poster, I just made it hastily last night to post around town today and tomorrow I guess.

As for the "anti-capitalist" reference, I hear where you're coming from, and I might post another flyer this afternoon, even if saturday is only two days away. I agree that the movement needs to reach more people, I just think that the core of all the problems is in fact, capitalism. It would be very beneficial to include people outside that belief in the movement also, because we are in fact fighting the same thing. So in brief, thanks.

"Even though we disagree we share a common enemy. Our message may not be the same but together we can break the chain. Different names, different means, common ground in-between. Don't sit back, it's time to act. This life is ours, let's snatch it back." -Chumbawamba

I still want to meet you Stephen Devoy, so we can clear up that I'm NOT a member of KOBE and NOT a cop and I'm not working for any law enforcement agency. I'm a fucking 17-year-old, alright?

If you want to come, I'll be outside the Downtown Crossing stop between 2 and 2:30 on saturday. Tight black pants, black boots, not sure about the shirt, just look for a green bandana around my neck, and black plastic glasses. I'd like to clear this up once and for all and stop all the conflict on this message board.

So don't attack me anymore, at least I'm making an effort to clear it up.

As I stated, I will be doing my usual activism on Saturday, in Harvard Square. I am dedicated to the movement in Harvard Square and will not have the time to go to Downtown Crossing on Saturday. If you wish, come to Harvard Square the following Saturday. I will be there as will our other opponents of the Regime.

As for me, I don't understand why it is important to meet me. I'm just one of many anarchists.
Well... (english)

Stephen Devoy, Veritas definately wants to meet you to clear up this mess..and end the bullshit that's been going on lately. It happens on other indymedias as well.

The causes are important, not the he said she said bullshit like drama. Let's keep Indymedia drama free.
You know where I'll be. (english)

I am dedicating my time to the construction of a disorganized resistance. I will be at my usual place on each Saturday doing my usual thing. Anyone that wishes to introduce himself or herself is welcome to do so.
Yep. (english)

I was planning on dropping by Harvard Square this saturday anyways, so I'll introduce myself there.

That's kind of weird that there were posts under my name on LA Indymedia. I'm going to assume that Rational Normal Person and/or KOBE saw me posting on here, saw peoples' suspicion of me, and capitalized on it by using my name on LA Indymedia. I think I've visited that site once to look at info. from the anti-war protests a while back, other than that, I haven't. Weird.
