lame duck period
08 Jan 2001
first off, I would not stay in Israel if I were one of the colonists or a Palestinian.
That said i should like to comment on the fact that even though devout Jews look towards Sharon, he is a nationalist and does not even practice Judeism anymore, this is self confessed and a bit of a swindle. For many hardline jews to put their faith in a man not of that faith is somewhat troubling.
Also I would like to point out the facade of surounding governments loyalty to the US and Israel, currently the US is trying to "buy" Jordan through acceptance with the UN. Possibly as a landing strip nation for any conflict. In my recollection the people their like to burn American flags as well as Israeli flags.
One puzzling aspect is who will Bush support or from which hilltop will he watch from. Based on the fact that there are links between the third reich and the bush family going back to the days when no one talked about the holocaust in the 30's I would bet that bush will step back from the peace process as much as possible. maybe even stop supporting the jews so much and try his hand at gunboat diplomacy.
I feel strongly that this new administration has been set up to fall on all levels of the playing field. Economically, we see our own country laying off record numbers of people(not so surprising).
I think President* Bush will maintain his interests in Middle east oil over the concerns of israel. Palestinian americans during the election had showed support for Bush over Gore, And my true feeling is after the second debate when bush referred to a dwindling american army, the very next day the USS Cole was bombed, no coincedance ther, I assure you.
In my opinion it was staged to show truth in Bush's statements.
I wouldn't be surprised if in 50 years we found out CIA spooks were dressed as ragheads and bombed our own ship to instigate a further burden in the middle east. Maybe even under the direction of Clinton.
Anyhoot these are just unfounded observations, I would encourage people to read into this middle east crisis more.
