Why is it that in Europe people can take a stand against the worst aspects of the failed Israeli hard-line policies, but when we Americans do so we are immediately shouted down as anti-semites?
Basically, the people of Israel suffer from living in a state of fear, while the Palestinians are literally being slaughtered by overwhelming force and while their homes are being razed in acts of collective punishment. Does any thinking person really feel they can justify the insane fascism that Sharon espouses? What a joke.
It is sickening to watch the melt-down of the United States. I love my country but I hate the totalitarianism slammed down upon us by a gang of bloody traitors. Now Bush-Cheney-Ashcroft are holding SECRET TRIALS! The Republicans have proposed legislation to create an "advisory committee" to decide what can and CANNOT be taught in Universities!

the committee based their findings on the testimony of Stanley Kurtz, who basically said that post-colonial studies are anti-American. So based on Kurtz dislike of Edward Said, he proposes that the government "oversee" what is and is NOT taught!
