On the Homefront - Explaining U.S. Casulties to the American Public (english)
03 Nov 2003
As U.S. casulties increase, the Bush administration increasingly uses vague and misleading statements to justify the invasion to the U.S. public
Let's look at the latest quotes coming out of the White House after a week of escalating violence that left dozens of Iraqis and Americans dead and wounded

The A.P. and others reported the following widespread quote from the president.

"We mourn every loss," said the President. "We honor every name. We grieve with every family. And we will always be grateful that liberty has found such brave defenders."

What!?! Can you repeat that please?

"We will always be grateful that liberty has found such brave defenders."

There is something immensly disturbing here to suggest that one has to die in a foriegn country in order to find one's "liberty."

One would think that "liberty" would have a far better chance of finding these poor soldiers if George Bush had never sent them to Iraq and instead allowed them to live long and fruitful lives at home, fulfilling their own dreams and desires.
Remember, this is a war that does not have widespread public support and the case for war was clearly based on inaccurate information and blatant lies.
We must also remember that while President Bush has no qualms about sending young soldiers to their deaths in Iraq, he had no such desire to serve this way in the Vietnam War.
Does anyone out there believe this garbage?
