Censorship in Houston (english)
12 Nov 2003
Modified: 13 Nov 2003
The Houston IMC has a new policy, and that policy is censorship.
The Houston IMC has a new policy, and that policy is censorship.

Any post that is contrary to the agenda of HIMC is now being deleted. The excuse is that some people were writing threats. That is true, and any post that threatens, libels, slanders, etc. etc. should be removed.

However, HIMC has used a handful of bad posts as an excuse to remove practically every post that isn't from a leftist view.

Is IMC about censorship?

Does IMC just not want to hear differing opinions?

Well, in Houston, it appears as though censorship is now guaranteed and you will not read an alternate opinion that doesn't fit their agenda.

Who learns or benefits from this?

I agree that there are absolutely times in which posts should be deleted and rules should be enforced, but apply it to all and don't use it as an excuse to silence whomever you don't agree.
