Buy Nothing Day has come around again, the 24 hour consumer fast in protest of one of the biggest shopping days of the year, the day after Thanksgiving. So this november 28th, we're having a party in downtown boston! A craft fair hopefully with street theatre and music. Speaking of music, prior to our fun event is a protest at Park Street station in opposition to the proposed regulations that will ban amplified instruments, drums, and brass instruments from the T, require "neat dress" of T musicians, ban homeless musicians, and raise the price of a license from 0 to $25.
Anyways, bring banners, craft supplies, any scrap fabric & thread & needles, loud music, chalk, fliers, instruments, or lacking that all, yourself and readiness to have fun and disrupt consumer culture.

Time to bring the retailers to their knees. Avoid buying any gifts for the holidays. If you have to?...Do your shopping Tuesday, December 23rd. That should make all of them sweat bullets!
Myself? I give money. Why fight the crowd? |
