MIT "hackers" honor the 100th anniversary of powered manned flight with a model of the Wright Brothers' Flyer on the university's Great Dome.

"Hackers" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge placed a wooden replica of the Wright Brothers' Flyer biplane on the university's 150-feet high Great Dome late Tuesday night, to pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the first manned powered flight. Hackers are students at MIT who participate in the long tradition of exploring rooftops and hidden inaccessible places late at night, and sometime deploy "hacks", which are pranks that often involve creative artisitic expression and amazing engineering feats. The airplane on the Great Dome was discovered early Wednesday morning, and has a wingspan of about 45 feet.

I don't know if this tops the police car that wound up there overnight some years back, but, damn. That's awesome.
