SOLIDARITY WITH THE STRUGGLE OF THE PEOPLE OF OAXACA!
31 Oct 2006
The uprising of the Oaxacan people continues on its 158th day. It started with a strike of the teachers on 22 May and continued with the occupation of the provincial institutions, expulsion of the local state forces of the province, formation of the Popular Assembly of the People of Oaxaca (APPO) and turning of it into the organ of local power. The attacks, imprisonments and massacres of the police forces of the federal state and the province are not able to stop the resistance in Oaxaca.
The concentration of thousands of soldiers and policemen around the city and the threats of attack and massacre are not able to break the barricades in Oaxaca, but on the contrary, consolidate those.
The workers, labourers and the Indian communities in Oaxaca have been continuing their struggle for 158 days with the demand of the resignation of Ulises Ruiz Ortiz, the governor, who is the main responsible and representative of all the crimes of the Mexican bourgeois state in the province, including the attack to the teachers' strike.
The brave sons of the Oaxacan people, Andres Santiago Cruz, Pedro Martinez Martinez, Octavio Martinez Martinez, Marcos Garcia Tapia, Jose Jimenez Colmenares, Lorenzo Sanpablo Salazar, Arcadio Fabian Santiago, Alejandro Garcia Hernandez and Panfilo Hernandez Vazquez, fell in this heroic struggle.
German Mendoza Nube, militant of the Popular Revolutionary Front, Erangelio Mendoza Gonzales, teachers' leader, Catarino Torres Pereda, peasant's leader and Ramiro Aragon Perez were imprisoned by the Mexican state.
The fight and the uprising of the people of Oaxaca, which continues at the cost of many sacrifices, enlighten the way of the working class and the labouring masses all over the world.
On these days of the anniversary of the October Revolution, contrary to the lies of the bourgeoisie that "socialism is dead and the end of the history has come"; the barricades in Oaxaca light the fire of the Paris Communards and of the October Revolution, under the very nose of US imperialism.
On the way of the October Revolution, it is an internationalist revolutionary task of the worlds' proletariat and the oppressed peoples to defend and announce the resistance of the Oaxacan people, to be in solidarity with the Oaxacan people, to strengthen their fight and to learn from their resistance.
Our party MLCP, which greets and supports the brave resistance of the Oaxacan workers and the labourers, calls all the progressive, revolutionary and communist forces, the working class and the oppressed peoples to express their solidarity with the Oaxaca Commune.
LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTIONARY RESISTANCE OF THE PEOPLE OF OAXACA!
LONG LIVE THE POPULAR ASSEMBLY OF THE PEOPLE OF OAXACA (APPO)!
LONG LIVE THE PROLETARIAN INTERNATIONALISM!
