March 3 Boston Rally & March: "Stop Plan Colombia"

Tell Bush and Pastrana: "Hands off the Dialog Zone!" "Stop Plan Colombia!"
"Free Trade Globalization = Death Squads in Colombia"
"EEUU Fuera de Colombia!" La zona de despeje s, Plan Colombia no!

The Bush administration is pushing ahead with "Plan Colombia," the $1.3 billion intervention of US attack helicopters, biological and chemical defoliants, and Special Forces "advisors" into Colombia's civil war. These vast sums could be used to stop hospital closings, house the homeless, fund education, and find jobs for laid off workers, instead of for a phony "war on drugs" which looks more like another Vietnam every day. In Colombia, ultra-right paramilitary death squads, staffed and orchestrated by the U.S. trained Colombian military, have killed hundreds of labor leaders, community activits, and indigenous people in recent months, hoping to squash popular resistance to the Pastrana government's IMF imposed austerity measures. This is the true aim of "Plan Colombia" and "free trade," to stop the gaining peoples movements for liberation.
