22 Jan 2004
In my hometown next weekend will be the 25th annual Hygienic art festival.
"No Judge, No Jury, No Fees, No Censorship Celebrating Twenty-Five Outrageous Years!!!"
I'll be visiting relatives at the same time, as an excuse to attend.
Looking forward to it. Read about it. Tell me whatcha think. :)
Hygienic ART XXV
No Judge, No Jury, No Fees, No Censorship
Celebrating Twenty-Five Outrageous Years!!!

New London -- The Hygienic Art XXV Exhibition, New London's
notorious free-for-all arts festival, will kick-off Saturday,
January 31 and run thru February 14, 2004. Admission to all the
events is free. This year the annual will celebrate the 25th year of
arts and celebrations. Touted as New London's Only Winter Tourist
Attraction, the main art event, Salon des Independants, will be
opening Saturday Night at the Hygienic Galleries, 79 Bank Street,
New London, CT. All artists are welcome. One piece per artist.
Hanging begins on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 9 AM and runs until 6 PM.
The exhibition is well known for its diverse original art ranging
from the sublime to the outrageous. Over its 25 year history, the
annual art extravaganza has grown from an anti-establishment art
show to a multi-media art event including film making,
playwrighting and performance art as well as a young artists' show
and musical events. This year all of the downtown galleries will be
hosting openings and receptions throughout the day and many downtown
restaurants will offer extended hours and bistro menus as part of
New London Main Street's Night Kitchens. Also in this year's
offering will be free music throughout the city, the annual cabaret
and screening of independent film and video. For more info on
