Jamaica Plain papers report racist propaganda
31 Jan 2004
Modified: 05:32:45 PM
Two Jamaica Plain papers the JP Gazette, and the
JP Bulletin both have reported that a national militia group [National Alliance] has distibuted
racist right wing literature opposing gay marriage in JP and Roslindale.
On the front page of the JP Gazette last week (Jan 23, 2004)
" Hate group drops flyers on JP street "
CENTRAL JP -A well-known racist group [National
Alliance] dropped anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant and homophobic literature including an attack on the recent gay marriage court case involving
local couples on a quiet residential street
near the Curley School on Jan. 11, and promises
to keep doing it. ....

[The first paragraph is posted online, but the
article itself is published in the JP Gazette that is distributed widely in JP.]

This week [1/31] "The JP Bulletin" posted a similar story: WAR of WORDS by Leanne Gendreau

Residents of Jamaica Plain and Roslindale have been targeted by what some are describing as "hate
literature" and flyers that decry gay marriage and
provide anti-semitic blame for the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
The literature from the West Virginia based National Alliance, is titled "Let's Stand for Family Values," and addresses Massachusetts Supreme Court decision to change state marriage laws to allow same sex couples the same rights as heterosexual couples.

Re: Jamaica Plain papers report racist propaganda

Saw the article in the Gazette, and although I hate to see these fools get more press than they deserve, I think it served a valuable function. Apparently this particular group of racists is trying to sell itself as a positive, nonviolent group, but the article did a good job exposing the group's violent record.
