Homeland Security is erasing comments in blogs that are critical of it!
Note these comments i made yesterday were removed from Mr. Nichols article, and when i tried to restate them on an Air Berman blog this morning I was blocked, internal service failure, and subsequently the blog dissappeared.

Tuesday, February 06, 2007 Gore says Bush administration paying scientists to dispute global warming MADRID , SPAIN (CNN) -- Former Vice President Al Gore said in an interview on Tuesday the Bush administration is now paying scientists to dispute global warming since the administration can no longer argue against it.

During an interview with CNN affiliate Cuatro in Madrid, Gore said, "they've lost the argument and they don't want to stop dumping all this pollution into the Earth's atmosphere. The only thing they have left is cash and now they're offering cash for so-called skeptics who will try to confuse people about what the science really say. But it's unethical because now the time has come when we have to act."

Gore was the Democratic nominee against Bush in the 2004 presidential election. His film, An Inconvenient Truth, is up for the best documentary Oscar.

Mr. Nichols, impeach the Bush administration for using government offices to purposely lie for their own agenda! This is a very important fact, even though it's off your topic, slightly. We are seeing by the testimony of the Plame lying affair how VICE Cheney has used his office to smear any proponents of anti war critics.

Here is another travesty: it's about the governmental intention to keep the borders open at any cost, and it involves REAL LIES, now being brought out by Congressional action and should be the Main headline of the Nation today.

INVASION USA Government admits lying about jailed border agents Inspector confronted on Capitol Hill, says promised 'proof' does not exist

Rep. John Culberson ☼, R-Texas A Department of Homeland Security official admitted today the agency misled Congress when it contended it possessed investigative reports proving Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean confessed guilt and declared they "wanted to shoot some Mexicans" prior to the incident that led to their imprisonment.

The admission came during the testimony of DHS Inspector General Richard L. Skinner before the Homeland Security Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee, according to Michael Green, press secretary for Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas.

Culberson was questioning Skinner about a meeting DHS officials had Sept. 26 with him and three other Republican congressman from Texas, Reps. Ted Poe, Michael McCaul and Kenny Marchant.

(Story continues below)

WND previously reported that at that meeting the DHS Inspector General's office asserted it had documentary evidence Ramos and Compean:

confessed to knowingly shooting at an unarmed suspect;

stated during the interrogation they did not believe the suspect was a threat to them at the time of the shooting;

stated that day they "wanted to shoot a Mexican";

were belligerent to investigators;

destroyed evidence and lied to investigators. Under questioning by Culberson, Skinner admitted DHS did not in fact have investigative reports to back up the claims: "The person who told you that misinformed you," Skinner reportedly replied.

This prompted a startled and angry response from the congressman.

"You lied to me and you lied to all of us," Culberson charged. "Your office tried to paint a picture of Ramos and Compean as dirty cops, and now you come before this committee and tell us you never had the information to back up those claims."

Ramos and Compean began prison sentences last month after their actions in the shooting of a drug smuggler who was granted immunity to testify against them.

Responding to Skinner's testimony yesterday, Poe said it "explains why DHS has been stonewalling Congress."

"DHS didn't turn over the reports to us to back up their September 26 accusations for one simple reason – the reports never existed," the Texas congressman said.

"Why did it take DHS four months to admit their error?" he asked. "I wonder how much more has DHS told the public and Congress about Ramos and Compean that simply isn't true?"

Poe said he's determined to get to the bottom of DHS's claim.

"I expect this new revelation will lead to a lot more questions before we're done," he said.

Andy Ramirez, who has been involved with the case as chairman of Friends of the Border Patrol, told WND the DHS's actions "represent obstruction of justice, and they should be held in contempt of Congress, and, if possible, prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

"This admission today is yet more proof of how they are willing to distort the facts, as I have charged all along, in order to ensure a conviction," he said.

Imprisoned Border Patrol agent Ignacio "Nacho" Ramos was severely beaten in prison, Ramos' family members have confirmed to WND. Monica Ramos embraces her husband, former U.S. Border Patrol agent Ignacio Ramos, two days before he was sentenced to 11 years in prison (Courtesy El Paso Times)

In interviews with WND tonight, both Ramos's wife Monica and father-in-law Joe Loya confirmed that Ramos says he was assaulted in prison on Saturday night by a group of five Hispanic inmates who Ramos took to be illegal immigrants.

In a phone call from prison, Ramos told his wife earlier today that the assailants allegedly threatened him in Spanish, taunting him with, "**** la migra," insulting him – "migra" roughly translating as "immigration," slang for Border Patrol agent.

The assault occurred at Yazoo City Federal Correctional Complex, a medium facility federal prison in Mississippi, where Ramos had been moved about 10 days ago.

Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean began prison sentences last month, of 11 and 12 years respectively, for their actions in the shooting and wounding of a Mexican drug smuggler who was granted full immunity to testify against them. The case has caused national outrage, and dozens of congressmen are publicly insisting President Bush grant an immediate pardon of the two law enforcement officers.

Ramos's family feels that the decision to place him in a medium security prison violates a promise from federal authorities Ramos would be kept in isolation at a minimal security prison.

At Yazoo, Ramos was housed with the general prison population. A medium security prison such as Yazoo would be expected to house illegal immigrants, including those incarcerated on drug offenses.

The prison attack came immediately after the airing Saturday night of a segment on Ramos and Compean by the "America's Most Wanted" television show.

(Story continues below)

"On Saturday night my husband said he went to bed," Monica Ramos told WND late today.

She recounted the telephone call from her husband in prison earlier in the day: "He just told me that he dropped his guard. 'They got me,' Nacio told me, 'they got me pretty good.'"

"'What happened?'" Monica Ramos said she asked her husband. "He told me they were in the television room watching 'America's Most Wanted.' After that, some time after 10 p.m., he went back to his cubicle and was almost falling asleep. He awoke to the sound of shoes stomping. It startled him because at night the prisoners are supposed to take their shoes off and put flip-flops on."

She continued: "He said he didn't have a chance to turn around and look at any of the guys attacking him at that time. He just felt a blow to the back of his head. The prisoners were kicking him with steel-toe shoes, the work boots they are issued in prison. They kept kicking and kicking. And they kept calling him in Spanish a **** immigration officer, saying 'darle, darle,' which means, 'give it to him.' They were cussing him out in Spanish. He couldn't fight back he was outnumbered."

According to Loya, Ramos also said of the attack: "They kicked me in the head, they kicked me all over the body. I'm all bruised and very sore."

How did the attack stop?

"No security came to his rescue," the jailed Border Patrol agent's wife told WND. "Another inmate came and got Ramos and said 'Hey, dude, let me help you up.' The other inmate walked my husband over to security."

Did the prison give him any medical treatment?

"As of the time we talked this afternoon, the prison still hadn't given him any medical treatment," she said, adding that he told her, "'I asked all day yesterday.' I'm in a lot of pain and I have blood coming out of my left ear.'

"His head and his back are hurting him badly. He said it was almost time for the prison doctor to go for the day and he wasn't sure when any doctor would be able to see him."

Ramos told his wife he was able to identify only one of the five assailants: "They all cursed me in Spanish," he said, according to Loya. "As they were beating me up and kicking me, they kept calling me 'migra,' 'migra.' I'm pretty sure they were all illegal immigrants."

Ramos told his wife that he was badly bruised and bleeding from the ears. He said that immediately after the attack, he was placed back into solitary confinement, where he has been for the last two days.

"He told me that he asked to call me Sunday, after the attack," Monica Ramos continued, "but the prison wouldn't let him call me and they wouldn't let him call his attorney. He said the only reason the prison was letting him call now, on Monday, was because the Congress intervened, otherwise he wouldn't have been permitted any calls at all."

Patti Compean, wife of imprisoned agent Jose Compean, told WND her husband was in a different prison, still in solitary confinement.

Today is Ramos' 38th birthday. According to Loya, Ramos's three sons, aged 7, 9 and 13, woke up crying, not wanting to go to school. The children wanted to buy a cake and wait for their father to call so they could sing "Happy Birthday" to him on the phone and blow out the candles.

Early this morning, Loya began working with the office of U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher ☼, R.-Calif., to see if the warden would give Ramos special permission to call home on his birthday, after his children got home from school.

However, the birthday call didn't happen, Monica Ramos told WND.

"We went out and bought a cake," she said. "The kids came home expecting their dad to call from prison so they could wish him a happy birthday. But there isn't going to be any call. My 7-year-old, when he woke up this morning, the first thing he asked was if we could still celebrate today. I told him, 'Sure we can, baby,' and he's been looking forward to it all day."

However, Monica added, in tears: "He told me, 'They're not going to let me call later today.' He said the call in the afternoon only happened because Congress allowed it to happen. He said he doesn't have any privileges in prison. He hasn't even gotten the mail that everybody has been sending him. He told me, 'You really need to get me out of here.' That's what he told me last."

------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- INVASION USA Imprisoned border agent did report shooting DHS memo shows Compean spoke to supervisor immediately after incident

------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- Posted: February 7, 2007 1:00 a.m. Eastern

By Jerome R. Corsi © 2007

WND has obtained a Department of Homeland Security memo indicating Border Patrol agent Jose Compean made a complete, in-person verbal report to his supervisor at the scene immediately following the shooting incident for which he and colleague Ignacio Ramos are now in prison.

The May 15, 2005, report filed by DHS Special Agent Christopher Sanchez documents a conversation between Compean and his supervisor that explains the decision by all nine Border Patrol agents and supervisors on the scene not to file written reports.

As reported by WND yesterday, a DHS memo filed by Sanchez April 12, 2005, shows seven agents and two supervisors were present at the Feb. 17, 2005 incident also decided not to file written reports.

The April 12, 2005, DHS memo stated that all the agents present at the incident were equally guilty for not filing a written report.

(Story continues below)

These memos directly contradict the repeated statements of the prosecutor, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, that agents Ramos and Compean filed false reports about the incident.

As far as WND can determine, no written reports were filed by any of the Border Patrol agents or supervisors on the field.

Moreover, the record of the May 15, 2005, memo indicates Compean was truthful in reporting verbally to the most senior supervisor present at the incident.

Sanchez's memo of May 15, 2005, is a transcript of a hearing held by Compean with El Paso Border Patrol Sector Chief Louis Barker. The hearing was held at Compean's request in order to protest his proposed indefinite suspension resulting from his March 18, 2005, arrest on criminal charges.

The first part of the hearing was held April 7, 2005, before Compean's April 13, 2005, indictment. The second recording from the hearing is dated April 28, 2005.

At the administrative hearing, Compean was accompanied by union representative Robert Russell, a vice president of Local 1929, the El Paso branch of the National Border Patrol Council.

In the opening statement transcribed from the April 7, 2005, audio cassette, Russell makes Barker aware that Compean had made a complete report on the scene to Jonathan Richards, the more senior of the two supervisors who present at the incident.

Russell's testimony references a wound Compean suffered on his hand, a gash between the thumb and index finger, which he suffered when scuffling in the ditch with the drug smuggler, Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, who had abandoned his vehicle and was attempting to escape back to Mexico on foot. Russell points to this wound as evidence of aggravated assault committed on Compean by the drug smuggler.

Here is Russell's recorded testimony:

Well, I mean, the base … the basis of this is basically … ummm … Mr. Compean … an assault took place that day against one of our agents, and he did defend himself, and the part of the assault is never mentioned in the complaint or anywhere by OIG (Office of Inspector General) that they know clearly how this did take place. A few sentences later, Russell again references that what transpired at the scene was observed by the agents and supervisors in the field and subsequently fully known to the Border Patrol management at the station in Fabens, Texas.

Russell indicates that management at Fabens themselves chose not to make a report about Compean's injury. Here is his testimony:

Even management at the station in Fabens was fully aware of what had transpired and for whatever reason nothing was ever generated … and once all this comes forward, I mean, it's my belief even his attorneys' belief that even once that does come forward and all that information is presented that the charges will possibly be dropped … or dismissed … or he will be found not guilty … based on that … what did transpire. Directly contradicting prosecutor Sutton's assertion that agents Ramos and Compean filed false reports, the April 2005 administrative hearing reveals Compean was forthcoming concerning the events of the incident.

In the second cassette, Russell makes clear that the reluctance to do more formal reporting after the incident came from supervisor Richards.

But the fact of the matter is an assault did take place. Umm … Mr. Richards did know about it. Umm … whether Mr. Compean … Mr. Compean said yes sir to this or whether he was assaulted or not … doesn't negate Mr. Richards responsibility to take some action from the facts that were presented to him as to what happened out there.

He was on the scene. He was told by another agent exactly what had happened and it pretty much apparently stopped at that point.

Russell argues Richards did not want to go through the trouble of filing written paperwork. So rather than press the hand injury, which Compean felt was minor, Compean gave in to Richards' pressure to forget about the hand injury, obviating the only issue the supervisor felt might be needed to document in writing.

Station Chief Barker asked Compean why he didn't report the shooting. Compean admitted that possibly a written report should have been filed, but he and the other Border Patrol on the scene considered the incident inconsequential.

Compean testified:

As …As I stated to … umm … to this earlier … I didn't … I just … I know it was wrong for us not to reported it and I … if I would have thought that he had been hit or anything like that had happened I would have … I didn't … I just … I knew we were going to get in trouble because the way … the way it's been at the station the last two … three years … uhh … I mean everything always comes down to the alien. The agents are as soon as anything comes up … it is always … always the agent's fault. The agents have always been cleared but, with management, it's always been the agent's fault. We're the ones that get in trouble. Compean continued to note that Aldrete-Davila escaped, and none of the agents in the field thought he had been hit. All the agents and supervisors in the field knew there had been a shooting and none of the agents or supervisors filed any written reports. There was no "cover-up" of anything that happened that day in the field, the documentation indicates. The only defect was failure by all to file a written report, including the two supervisors present.

Compean emphasized that the failure to report the incident was considered minor given the outcome:

He (Aldrete-Davila) was already gone back south. I … really didn't … didn't think he had been hit. The way I saw him walking back south he looked … he looked fine to us and we just didn't … nothing was ever said as … as to don't say anything keep your mouth shut nothing like that was ever … was ever brought up either. We just … we just didn't bring it up. Compean's testimony emphasized supervisor Richards pressured him not to file a written report:

When we got back to the station it was the same thing he asked me and the way … the way I … the way he … he asked me ... he made it seemed like he wanted me to say no and that's why I said it. By denying he had been injured, Compean made it possible for Richards to avoid the trouble of filing a written report on the incident.

The issue about filing a written report, according to Compean's testimony, turned on his willingness not to mention the assault. The decision not to file a written report did not turn on wanting to hide the fact that shooting had taken place.

Moreover, Richards was well aware Compean had been injured in a scuffling match with Aldrete-Davila on the levee, when he wrestled the drug smuggler down. Compean did not even realize his hand had been cut until Richards pointed it out to him at the levee.

The Customs and Border Patrol manual mentions that the penalty for failure to report the discharge of a firearm or use of a weapon as required by the applicable firearms policy is a written reprimand, or at most a five-day suspension for the first offense. The manual makes no mention of the possibility of criminal punishment for failure to report the discharge of a weapon.

In a last, more belligerent section of the hearing, Barker charges, "There was a shooting where somebody was shot and NOTHING WAS SAID!" The capital letters were in the original transcript, probably reflecting Barker's emphasis.

Russell responds, according to the transcript: "That was an administrative violation on his part by not reporting it to the agency, yes, but on the same part the agency failed to act when it knew that an agent had been assaulted."

Then, Russell himself shouts out, "EMPLOYEES SAW IT," pointing out seven Border Patrol agents besides Ramos and Compean, including two supervisors, were at the scene.

According to the transcript, the pressure on Compean not to file a written report came from Richards, the senior supervisor on the field.

Richards was applying pressure on Compean not to report the assault, because that would have demanded paperwork.

Moreover, according to the hearing transcript, there is no record Richards ever mentioned to Compean the need to file a written report on the shooting.

Now Look at who has been in charge of slowing down these investigations and release of DHS information!

Cheney's Son-In-Law Blamed for Delaying Investigations of Homeland Security Department The Department of Homeland Security refuses to cooperate on oversight activities, according to testimony offered today by GAO Comptroller General David Walker and Homeland Security Inspector General Richard Skinner. The investigators highlighted the role of Philip Perry -- Chief Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security and Vice President Cheney's son-in-law -- as the major stumbling block in their investigations.

Walker said the DHS strategy in dealing with investigations is to "delay, delay, delay." CongressDaily reports:

"[Homeland Security] has been one of our persistent access challenges," GAO Comptroller General David Walker told the House Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee. Walker said the problem is "systemic" and not the fault of any single individual. But he complained that GAO has had to go through the office of Chief Counsel Philip Perry. Perry is married to Elizabeth Cheney, a former State Department official who is one of the vice president's two daughters. Walker said it is his understanding that Perry's office has to review documents GAO seeks before they are released and that Perry selectively sits in on interviews with department employees.

The GAO's Skinner "said his investigations have also been hindered":

"We're experiencing the same problem," said Skinner, who added his office is "oftentimes" told who they can interview and that it sometimes takes weeks to get documents. Skinner said he prepared a document last summer to inform all department employees of the IG's responsibilities and authorities and encouraging them to cooperate with investigations. "That letter has been sitting up in counsel's office at DHS since I believe June or July of ‘06," Skinner said.

The news is another in a series of black eyes for the agency. In a recent federal survey, DHS employees "scored last or almost last in job satisfaction, leadership and workplace performance." The latest semiannual report from Inspector General Skinner highlighted "a litany of staff misconduct: immigration officials demanding sex in exchange for visas, airport screeners stealing money from tourists' luggage, federal air marshals smuggling drugs, and employees from various DHS agencies committing sex crimes."

The Zionists leaders in Israel are now trying to provoke the Palestinians to more violence. DA5.htm

Israel restricts access to al-Aqsa

Al-Aqsa mosque in al-Quds is the third holiest site for Muslims [AP]

Israeli police and army forces deployed on Sunday around al-Aqsa mosque's compound in occupied Jerusalem in an attempt to prevent wide access to the site.

Security forces manned barricades and checked Palestinians' identification, allowing only men over 45 years of age and women near the site.

The Israeli government recently set a date to start demolishing a hill near al-Maghariba gate, one of al-Aqsa's entrances, to build a road for Jewish settlers.

A demonstration was planned for Sunday in the mosque yard after calls by Taysir al-Tamimi, Palestinian chief judge, to protect it from Israeli development plans.

He said: "I have appealed to all Palestinians to head on Sunday towards the holy Al-Aqsa mosque to hinder the Israeli order to demolish parts of the western fence of the holy al-Aqsa mosque."

"Israel is now carrying out wide excavations under the mosque and is building a synagogue in front of the Dome of the Rock," al-Tamimi said, adding the mosque was seriously threatened and could collapse.

Israel occupied and annexed the compound containing the holy sites after the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Your Views "The only real solution is for everyone to live on the land as equals. In the end, everyone there will have to live together or they will all die together."

The annexation of the compound is not recognised by international law. The al-Aqsa and Dome of the Rock mosques sit above the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest site.

The al-Aqsa mosque is Islam's third holiest shrine.

The area is referred to by Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif and by Jews as the Temple Mount.

Al-Tamimi said appeals had been made to Islamic and Arab states, the OIC, the Jerusalem Committee and the Arab League to intervene, but to no effect.

"Unfortunately, none [of these nations or bodies] has done anything as it seems that Jerusalem, al-Aqsa mosque and Palestine are not on their agendas."

For his part, Khaled Meshaal, the political bureau chief of Hamas, on Sunday condemned excavations by Israeli archaeologists near Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque, as Israeli security restricted access to the site.

"Israel knows what its violation of the holy Aqsa will bring. It is playing with fire," Khaled Meshaal said on Sunday at a news conference in Syria, where he lives in exile.

Meshaal warned that further Israeli threats to the integrity of the mosque would be considered inflammatory. He said: "Sharon's desecration of the Aqsa sparked the 2000 uprising.

The Israeli leadership must learn from this lesson. We have confidence in our people, its masses, all of its groups and military wings.

"We are facing a dangerous action.

Jerusalem's Muslim and Christian holy sites are dear to all Palestinians. Israel is trying to take advantage of the Palestinian internal conflict to commit its crimes."

A visit to al-Aqsa mosque compound in September 2000 by Ariel Sharon, then Israel's opposition leader, led to the second Palestinian intifada. 74A.htm

Israeli dig sparks protests

Police restricted Palestinian entry to the Old City, forcing protests and prayer outside [EPA]

Israeli excavation work near a compound in Jerusalem that houses al-Aqsa mosque has sparked protests by Palestinians and condemnation from the Jordanian king.

King Abdullah says the dig is a "flagrant violation" of a 1994 peace treaty which recognises Jordan's "historic role" in overseeing maintenance at Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem.

Israeli assurances that the dig would not harm Islam's third holiest site did little to stifle the anger as 11 Palestinians were arrested and crowds threw stones at Israeli soldiers in Bethlehem.

Ismail Haniya, the Palestinian prime minister, said Israel was out to cause "direct harm" to al-Aqsa.

He said: "I appeal to all our Palestinian people to be united and to rise up together to protect al-Aqsa and the holy sites on the blessed land of Palestine."

Noble Sanctuary

The excavation work, just outside the site known as the Noble Sanctuary to Muslims and as the Temple Mount to Jews, is to ensure that renovation work to construct a pedestrian bridge to replace a ramp leading up to the complex does not damage any archaeological artifacts found at the site, officials said.

Part of the old stone walkway collapsed a few years ago, making it unsafe for people to use.

Gideon Avni, the director of excavations and surveys at Israel's Antiquities Authority, said: "The ramp itself is a very unstable area. It has been declared a dangerous area.

"There is no way on earth that the work can cause damage to the outer wall of the Temple Mount and absolutely not to any existing monument within the Temple Mount."

"I appeal to all our Palestinian people to be united and to rise up together to protect al-Aqsa and the holy sites on the blessed land of Palestine"

Ismail Haniya, Palestinian prime minister

Aware that the work is likely to inflame tensions, Israeli police had already restricted access to the site, preventing tourists and Palestinian men under the age of 45 from entering.

Speaking earlier on Al Jazeera, Sheikh al-Tamini, a senior Muslim scholar and judge, called on Palestinians to head to al-Aqsa mosque to "protect" the site.

Muslims who went to the Old City to pray as an act of protest, found their way blocked by police so prayed outside the city gates.

'Volcano of anger'

Fatah, led by Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, said in a statement that any damage to the mosque would release Palestinian militant groups from a ceasefire with Israel in the Gaza Strip declared last November.

The governing Hamas movement, whose supporters held a rally in Gaza against the dig, said "any assault" on the mosque "will lead to a termination of the limited ceasefire" with Israel and would spark "a volcano of anger".

Ali Ayed, Jordan's ambassador to Israel, told state-run Petra news agency: "Jordan has informed Israel of its strong condemnation for the work being carried out by Israel in the Dung Gate area of al-Aqsa mosque.

"This protest and condemnation are based on the religious responsibility Jordan has over the Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem."

'Radical emotions'

"... Muslims fear it is part of a plan by Israel to destroy the Islamic heritage of the old city"

Jacky Rowland, Al Jazeera correspondent

Tzipi Livni, the Israeli foreign minister, said: "The activities being carried out do not harm ... and will not harm any of the holy places."

She accused Israel's enemies of exploiting "every opportunity to stir the most radical emotions".

In 1996, work to open tunnels nearby sparked clashes which killed 80 people.

The compound is where the second Palestinian uprising erupted in September 2000 following a controversial visit by Israel's then-opposition leader, Ariel Sharon.

The site is also revered by Jews as once the site of Solomon's temple, the holiest shrine in Judaism, destroyed by the Romans in 70AD.

In January 2007, Israel revealed a project to set up a synagogue next to the al-Aqsa mosque's Dome of the Rock.

In February 2004, excavation works carried out by Israeli authorities led to the collapse of a part of the path leading to al-Maghareba Gate, one of the mosque's main entrances.

The Israeli government has been conducting exploratory excavation works underneath the al-Aqsa mosque since 1969.

Jacky Rowland, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Jerusalem, said: "The Israelis call this a salvage excavation. They say they will preserve whatever archeological remains are uncovered. But Muslims fear it is part of a plan by Israel to destroy the Islamic heritage of the old city."

Surely inquiring minds would like to know. And surely this subject should be openly and fully discussed – especially by broadcast hosts who "claim" to represent the "alternative media" in this country!"

AIPAC wants you to die in Iran by Kurt Friday, May. 27, 2005 at 9:28 AM

As a primary example how AIPAC runs the foreign policy of the United States, consider Dana Milbank's AIPAC's Big, Bigger, Biggest Moment, published in the Washington Post. Milbank tells us: at the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, held in Washington recently, the pro-Israel "political action committee" (or rather a political bribery and intimidation, to say nothing of espionage, committee or more accurately racket) is "here to stay" (according to Howard Kohr, executive director), that is to say no niggling little investigation by the FBI will put a kink in the pressure camarilla's operations. Getting busted stealing U.S. secrets, according to Kohr, is no big deal, although it is a "test of [AIPAC's] collective resolve" in its effort to dominate U.S. foreign policy in the name of Israel.

Condi Rice and "congressional leaders" were in attendance, according to Milbank. "AIPAC is a demanding crowd, and even Rice, introduced as a 'very special friend,' did not satisfy universally. The participants applauded heartily her reminder that Bush did not meet with Arafat, but when she said Arafat's successor, Mahmoud Abbas, 'is committed to both freedom and security,' and when she mentioned more U.S. funds for Palestinians, the room was quiet." In other words, for the AIPAC faithful, helping out the Palestinians in any way is seriously frowned upon-no doubt a lot of them feel the same way Ariel Sharon and the Likudites do: the Palestinians (or "beasts walking on two legs," as the warm and fuzzy former PM of Israel, Menachem Begin, once characterized them) should expect nothing, maybe a few more "operations" (collective punishment and mass murder), and they should most definitely think about emigrating, maybe to Antarctica. Obviously, there is nothing Mahmoud Abbas can do except convince his people to walk across the desert, maybe with a bit of prodding from the munificent IDF, and settle in western Iraq or maybe somewhere in Jordan (AIPACers and Zionists consider Jordan the "real" home of the Palestinians, although none of them have ever lived there, or very few of them did until Israel ran them out of the country at gunpoint in 1948).

Milbank tells us "the attendees overall showed an impressive ideological discipline-right down to AIPAC's multimedia show, 'Iran's Path to the Bomb,' in the convention center's basement" (in Washington, a lot of things happen in basements; ask

Oliver North). AIPAC and well-placed Zionists in the Pentagon and White House have a fixation about Iran and its supposed desire to get its hands on a couple nuclear bombs, ostensibly to "push the Jews into the sea" by way of radiation.

The exhibit, worthy of a theme park, begins with a narrator condemning the International Atomic Energy Agency for being "unwilling to conclude that Iran is developing nuclear weapons" (it had similar reservations about Iraq) and the Security Council because it "has yet to take up the issue." In a succession of rooms, visitors see flashing lights and hear rumbling sounds as Dr. Seuss-like contraptions make yellowcake uranium, reprocess plutonium, and pop out nuclear warheads like so many gallons of hummus for an AIPAC conference.

Of course, the IAEA was absolutely spot on about Iraq-it did not possess nuclear weapons or, for that matter, many other weapons, or at least not weapons of a threat to Israel (remember Condi's "smoking gun" and "mushroom cloud" in response to Hans Blix's assertion that Iraq did not possess weapons of mass destruction, to which stand-up comedian Ari Fleischer replied: "The problem with guns that are hidden is you can't see their smoke." ). It is a nostalgic addition for AIPAC to add a yellowcake uranium processor to their circus sideshow. it reminds us of the fiction Saddam was also in pursuit of the fabled yellow cake.

Of particular interest at the AIPAC confab was a "debate" between Rep. Jane Harman ☼ ☼ ☼ (D-Calif.) and the Prince of Darkness himself, Richard Perle, former runner-up for the Jonathan Pollard "Sell Out Your Country" Award (he was investigated by the Justice Department and found to have violated US policies relating to unlawful transmission of sensitive classified US information to Israel).

Perle drew cheers for denouncing Palestinian anti-Semitism and the French. Harman mentioned that an aide once worked for AIPAC, called her audience "very sophisticated" and celebrated Yasser Arafat's death as "a blessing." Debating a hard-liner in front of a pro-administration crowd, Harman heaped praise on President Bush, calling the Iraqi elections "sensationally impressive" and moving to "applaud" or "commend" Perle and the administration a dozen times. "Richard is right, and so is President Bush," she said at one point.

But after half an hour of this, Harman could not keep up. Perle provoked cheers from the crowd when he favored a military raid on Iran, saying that "if Iran is on the verge of a nuclear weapon, I think we will have no choice but to take decisive action." When Harman said the "best short-term option" is the U.N. Security Council, the crowd reacted with boos.

In other words, when it comes to Israel and bombing Muslim and Arab nations (and forcing so-called "elections" on them), there is little difference between Democrats and Strausscons such as Richard Perle. It would seem the only difference between to two camps is in regard to Iran-Democrats such as Harman want a check for mass murder written by the United Nations while Perle believes no such check or permission is required and wants the United States to go it alone and bomb Iran in the name of AIPAC and Israel.

Iran will be attacked, maybe next month, possibly down the road a stretch (see Scott Ritter's analysis). Naturally, this will be an unmitigated disaster since Iran will not stand still and do nothing during and after the bombs fall. "The entire Zionist territory, including its nuclear facilities and atomic arsenal, are currently within range of Iran's advanced missiles," a senior Iranian official said last August. An attack on Iran "could only be carried out by angry or stupid people. For that reason, officials of the Islamic Republic must always be prepared to counter possible military threats," declared Yadollah Javani, head of the Revolutionary Guards political bureau. "Iran would respond within 15 minutes to any attack by the United States or any other country," an anonymous Iranian official linked to the ruling mullahs told Borzou Daragahi of the San Francisco Chronicle in February. "Iranian authorities," Daragahi continues, "say they have been getting ready for a possible attack. Newspapers have announced efforts to increase the number of the country's 7 million-strong 'Basiji' volunteer militia, which was deployed in human-wave attacks during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s. Iranian military authorities have paraded long-range North Korean-designed Shahab missiles before television cameras." But the Iranians, paying heed to the lessons on guerilla warfare against the United States in Iraq, are not limiting their potential response to conventional military readiness. "Over the last year, they've developed their tactics of 'asymmetrical' war, which would aim not at resisting a penetration of foreign forces, but to then use them on the ground to all kinds of harmful effect," a military expert based in Tehran added. It is also a sure bet the Iranians would stir up trouble in neighboring Iraq if the United States or Israel invaded.

So here's what Richard Perle and AIPAC are not telling you: if Iran is invaded (or simply bombed) it will respond in kind and this will necessitate a more robust military response by the United States, i.e., more bullet-stoppers will need to be thrown into the mix. Since the Pentagon is having big problems recruiting soldiers (even the cell phone generation, more or less lost in oblivious consumerism, realizes joining the military may translate into serious bodily harm or even death), if all hell breaks loose in Iran and Iraq, as the Iranians warn, the only option will be to kick start conscription, otherwise known as involuntary servitude, or less politely slavery.

In essence, Richard Perle and AIPAC want you to donate your kids (or yourself) to the plan for Greater Israel and the long-envisioned Pax Israelica empire. Perle and the Strausscons realize they cannot attack Iran without a large influx of troops (a fact mentioned by the Strausscon William Kristol, who more or less, between the lines, asked for military conscription since brow-beating military recruiters bearing fistfuls of sign-up cash at the local mall or high school are not working out).

Maybe by this time next year, while AIPAC is chewing through "26,000 kosher meals, 32,640 hors d'oeuvres, 2,500 pounds of salmon, 1,200 pounds of turkey, 900 pounds of chicken, 700 pounds of beef and 125 gallons of hummus," as Milbank notates, your 20-something son and daughter will be slumped over MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) in a foxhole somewhere in the Persian desert with deadly depleted uranium blowing around. Since there are 66,622,704 (as of 2002) Iranians, and many of them are young males, and 24,001,816 Iraqis (minus a hundred or more thousand, killed over the last couple years by "our troops" under the vicious guidance of the likes of Donald Rumsfeld), we can expect the (unphotographed) flag-draped caskets to arrive at Dover AFB in record numbers.

At the AIPAC last week:

"Hillary Clinton addresses Iran threat Calling Iran a danger to the U.S. and one of Israel's greatest threats, U.S. Senator and presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday no option can be taken off the table when dealing with that nation.

"U.S. policy must be clear and unequivocal: We cannot, we should not, we must not permit Iran to build or acquire nuclear weapons," the Democrat told a crowd of Israel supporters. "In dealing with this threat ... no option can be taken off the table."

Woman Speaker of the House likes idea of Woman President. This Woman, Senator Clinton ☼ ☼ is no different than Bush regarding Middle Easatern policy! We need to bring back al Gore with a running mate not sold out to AIPAC. We need candidates who care about the Earth, people and our soldiers and citizens, and the world community.

Impeachment for Vice Cheney should begin immediately, with Bush, Rumsfeld, Certoff to follow. Bush refuses to pardon two border patrol agents who shot at an illegeal drug dealer but had NO PROBLEMA pardoning a serial canibalistic murderer whose cult Bush belonged to and couldn't remeber where he had been for three days, while Governor in Texas. Yet he rarely pardoned anyone!

Martha Stewart got jail time for lying about insider trading. Cheney sold his Halliburton Stock while he knew the Dresser purchase carried asbestos liability and the Halliburton stocks would plunge,(all others who owned it at that time, including pension plans lost big time) and he wasn't charged with inside trading,

Instead he was able to be appointed by the Supreme Court as VICE president, after Delay's cronies stopped the count in brother Jeb Bush's Florida, and as present commander in chief that day in the underground bunker, leader of multiple drills were going on in a simulation of planes attacking buildings, to confuse ground workers on 911, even though Condolesa Rice, who had to be evacuated from a G8 summit in Italy to aircraft carriers because of threats to attack hotels with airplanes months earlier, said "who would ever dream anyone would use jet liners as weapons, Cheney had plans with PNAC for the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq way before 911,and in Rebuilding America's defenses it was said a New Pearl Harbor was needed. Bush had told Paul O'Neill, economy chief who quit, he wanted to finish Sadamn two years before 911.

Rumsfeld at the Pentagon screamed there are absolutely no survivors... and couldn't account for the missing defense money....4.5 Trillion dollars couldn't be accounted for by Dov Zacheim as Payroll keeper at Pentagon... He called it a "Hot handle...." and laughed.

Chertoff, dual Israeli American, deported the Dancing Israelis who later were found to be Mossad agents who failed 7 lie detector tests, and Covered up Bush's financial ties to the Bin Laden family, and actually let a financier of Bin Laden walk. Contributed to writing the Patriot Act, the worst assault on the Bill of Rights ever, married to Julie L.Myers. She was made head of Immigration And Customs Enforcement Bureau at the Department of Homeland Security. She's Chertoff's wife. Nice . She is also the niece of former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Richard B. Myers. Now Bush is talking about building an Israeli fence on the border. Why not alligators rounded up from Florida, sent on Flooded New Orleans busses and dumped into the Rio Grande. A Border plan with teeth!

Now the National Guard will be sent to the border, but not to Guard, detain, or arrest illegals, but to answer phones, without ammunition.

Chertoff not aware citizens were dying at the Convention Center in New Orleans , even though CNN was broadcasting it, sends Blackwater killer mercenaries to New Orleans.

Several people were warned not to fly 911, only three Israeli citizens died at the WTC not the hundred forty plus Bush claimed in the State of the Union, thanks to Odigo, And top WTC VIPS were invited to a bash in Colorado that day by Warren Buffet, place where Bush was finally taken... from the school photo op.

Larry Silverstein who admitted pulling WTC 7, forty seven story WTC 7, 2 years later on a documentary, wins insurance on WTC but wants two payments because there were two planes, Everything there was pulverized to dust but not Atta's visa, cancer killing dust for which hero WTC rescuer James Zagruda's daughter still is not collecting his full pension, nor were his medical bills paid for.

Halliburton wins no bid contract in Iraq, and the contract to build concentration camps in America.

Bush family admits criminal behavior: What part of "if the American people had ever known the truth of what we Bush's have done to this nation, we would be chased down the streets and lynched" don't you understand?

Of course, would anyone, Mr. Snow, dare comment about Mr. Ex President Bush's statement Famous Quote of George Bush Senior:" You can fool some of the people all the time, and these are the ones you want to concentrate on" I also remember he said "Sarah, if the American people had ever known the truth about what we Bushes have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched."

George Bush Senior speaking in an interview with Sarah McClendon in December 1992

Because they in the oath of Skull and Bones swear allegiance to the world's elite getting richer, at any cost.

Including allowing a porous border for 5 years after 911, which the final 911 investigation team recommended immediately sealed, the first pick Bush made, Henry Kissinger not being acceptable. Yes Bush's first pick to head an investigation, same one wanted for war crimes by international court, same who said:

"It is not a matter of what is true that counts, but a matter of what is perceived to be true." -- Henry Kissinger

"Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy." Henry Kissinger, quoted by Bob Woodward in The Final Days, 1976

"Today Americans would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will pledge with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by their world government."

-- Henry Kissinger, from his grand finale address at the Bilderberger meeting at Evian, France, 21 May 1992

President relies on thousands of private soldiers with little oversight, a troubling example of outsourcing of U.S. military

Jan 29, 2007 04:30 AM Jeremy Scahill

As U.S. President George W. Bush took the podium to deliver his State of the Union address last Tuesday, five American families received news that has become all too common: Their loved ones had been killed in Iraq.

But in this case, the slain were neither "civilians," as the news reports proclaimed, nor were they U.S. soldiers. They were highly trained mercenaries deployed to Iraq by a secretive private military company based in North Carolina – Blackwater USA.

The company made headlines in early 2004 when four troops were ambushed and burned in the Sunni hotbed of Fallujah – two charred, lifeless bodies left to dangle for hours from a bridge.

That incident marked a turning point in the war, sparked multiple U.S. sieges of Fallujah and helped fuel the Iraqi resistance that haunts the occupation to this day.

Now, Blackwater is back in the news, providing a reminder of just how privatized the war has become.

Last Tuesday, one of the company's helicopters was brought down in one of Baghdad's most violent areas.

The men who were killed were providing diplomatic security under Blackwater's $300-million State Department contract, which dates to 2003 and the company's initial no-bid contract to guard administrator Paul Bremer in Iraq.

Current U.S. ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad, who is also protected by Blackwater, said he had gone to the morgue to view the men's bodies, asserting the circumstances of their deaths were unclear because of "the fog of war."

Bush made no mention of the downing of the helicopter during his speech. But he did address the issue that has made the war's privatization a linchpin of his Iraq policy – the need for more troops.

The president called on Congress to authorize an increase of about 92,000 active-duty troops over the next five years.

He then
