Help us Vote so the MA government stops using corporate
made Software that oppresses our freedoms. |
We, the activists of BinaryFreedom (http://www.binaryfreedom.info), have created a coalition to link all of our issues relating to computing freedom at http://devalpatrick.com/issue/computingfreedom
MyIssue.DevalPatrick.com is an online tool to help you participate in shaping the direction of your community and Massachusetts. It is where you can identify and present an issue that matters to you and then organize around it. The Governor keeps track of the efforts of everyone who uses MyIssue and will often comment on issues generating solid amounts of support.
Because MyIssue is a tool intended for residents of Massachusetts, only Massachusetts residents can directly participate by voting on issues. Regardless, we can all benefit from this resource by discussing the details of issues we want to raise on this list: http://www.binaryfreedom.info/mailman/listinfo/independentfreesoftwareac
We have created an issue regarding free software usage in state and local government, which can be reviewed and voted for at http://devalpatrick.com/issue/freesoftware
We now have the minimum number of votes required in order to show up on the front MyIssue page as a "new issue". We'd now like to get at least 100 votes so Gov. Patrick may respond to our concerns.

Please Don't Feed the Trolls
Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." Boston IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.
